As you know I disagree entirely with you, Bon.

this sounds all well and good. but our country is going bankrupt. our purchasing power is being undermined at a steady, deliberate pace. everyone is in debt. we have no hard assets. we aren’t creating anything of value.
what is kucinich going to do about this? how can he justify more massive government programs/spending in a time of financial crisis? don’t forget all the other entitlement programs that we have already promised. the baby boomers are retiring, after all.
then again, this is always how it works. undermine the savings of the american people and then, when they can’t afford anything, make them dependent on the government. because a government that is powerful enough to give you everything, is also powerful enough to take it all away. recessions, depressions, stagflation…the most tried and true road to serfdom.
it saddens me to see that liberals and progressives have degenerated into nothing more than naive keynesian statists. when did the federal government become the solution to all our problems? what happened to union solidarity, community autonomy, local governance, neighborhood outreach? isn’t the current behemoth in washington already scary enough?
DOWNSIZE D.C.!
