Action Alert!

http://action.citizen.org

Tell the Obama administration and U.S. negotiators to make trade policy work for working families. Sign the petition today!

Our U.S. trade team is negotiating the Trans-Pacific Partnership Free Trade Agreement (TPP FTA). This would be the biggest trade agreement in U.S. history. If not done right, it could lead to more U.S. jobs being outsourced, the erosion of workers’ rights and Buy America provisions, and undermining of U.S. environmental and consumer safety protections.

We cannot afford to repeat the mistakes of past trade policy.

Therefore, we, the undersigned, call on you to ensure the TPP FTA:

1. Creates jobs in the United States and does not promote offshoring;

2. Improves working conditions and strengthens workers’ rights at home and abroad;

3. Allows governments to prioritize spending taxpayer funds locally; and

4. Protects the rights of sovereign governments to make policies in the public interest, including policies with respect to clean air and water, affordable medicines and food safety.

  2. Won’t play in Firefox. Chrome or on You Tube just fine. I have been having a lot of issues w FF lately.

  3. Contemporary chaos really is all about money power. Everything hinges on it. Governments are bought & sold. Universities are commercialised and “endowed.” Markets are rigged. The only solution is to opt out, abandon ship, take to the smaller craft, because the Big System is now so compromised and corrupt and insane, it is destined to fail. It is sheer hubris on the part of unenlightened humans to presume to control the tides, the winds the forces of energetic Nature, the Stars in their courses. The greatest manual of governance ever composed is the Dao De Jing; although the country of its original provenance, China, has abandoned that Wisdom ~ but, interestingly not Hong-Kong. It is indeed ironic that the “West” has conserved the wisdom of the “East.” Whether we can practice it is another matter…it is not an arcane heritage to be curated in a Museum, but a philosophy to be lived ~ even on Wall St.. James Joyce had it, Aleister Crowley submitted to it, most great men come to it eventually. Let the fools have their day of folly, there are more enduring things than the ridiculous ego of man.

    • David , Dao’s is fine for the East , but for the West my money is on Polibius ‘s mixed consitution . it is the best synthesis of the Ancients.
