Regarding Iran: The President has avoided every opportunity to make peace in the region. Examples are too numerous to list here. Further, he has encouraged and even created civil wars in the region during his tenure. The ensuing chaos and fear have given way to obscene crude-oil profits and control of the US Congress.

He further feeds fear of Iran to his media machines as a tool of influence in primary election results at home and will do the same this fall. These Iran / Iraq fear-mantras hit the commodity pits with symphonic precision.

Quick background update... His control of all (not just a few) Federal agencies encouraged if it did not actually create the housing bubble which has not yet fully unwound. The collapse of his housing bubble necessitated his inflation of the commodities bubble. Yes, the housing bubble follows in the President’s wake as he speeds towards Iran in these final months of power. The two bubbles are related to one another and therefore to Iran. The least-damning goal of his Iran rhetoric is further inflation of the oil / corn bubbles which are causing unprecedented global inflation, international starvation and widespread corporate collapse. Companies and funds with new oil-wealth will reinvent themselves while picking up the steeply discounted pieces of the many “fallen” corporations as the oil bubble collapses, by the way.

The most damning goal of the President’s Iran rhetoric is WWIII with a taste for the biggest military jackpot in history: British/American ownership of the oil rights that feed the markets that his corporate sponsors have already fully “cornered.” The present President of the United States has brought disgrace to his office and our country. Wake up America. Take back the White House. Take control of this President.

That is not Naomi Klein's entire speech at the NCMR -- she started out with comments on Hillary. I was there and I heard the whole thing but I can't find a copy of it! I would like to play it in my podcast and I have been waiting and waiting for Freespeech.net to put it on their website and they won't. It's because Klein mentioned politicians by name, which they weren't supposed to do ... and also because they are non-profit. I also think it's because she criticized Obama, but she criticized Hillary even more. So-- I'm still looking for the whole thing including the beginning. If anyone has it, please let me know.

Can you prove Iran is doing so? Your own CIA's recent NIE would claim otherwise...

Let's follow that up with a question to YOU goodtime:

In 1954, the CIA overthrew the model democracy in the region, bringing on the Shah, whose abuse resulted in his overthrow by the Mullahs.

What right did the USA have THEN in overthrowing Mossadeq's democracy in Iran the first time? To date you Neocons refuse to address that one.

What right did the USA have in overthrowing the legally and democratically elected government of Salvador Allende bringing on the internationally scorned atrocities of our puppet, Pinochet? (There we go again, promoting ‘Democracy’ across the globe, eh?)

What right did the USA have in invading Iraq in the first place, when it's well known that the war was based on falsified intel foisted by Condi and Rummy, and when you know full well the inspections were coming up dry?

What right did the USA have in invading Vietnam, killing 2 million people, carpet-bombing Cambodia and paving the way for Pol Pot when you now know full well that your CIA FAKED the gulf of Tonkin incident?

What right did the USA have in backing and sustaining the Genocide in East Timor by Suharto?

Is it not time for the propagators of criminally warmongering atrocities of the Neocon-style of illegal postwar aggressive invasions and covert destabilizations and coups by the USA to stop?

Your president has stated that the Iraq war was not about the oil. OK then tell me, what then were the 'national security interests' the USA had in going into Iraq in the first place?? You KNEW there was conflicting intel, and that inspectors were on the ground, and that he wasn’t going to nuke the USA from Iraq, and certainly that Saddam, while a bad man, was certainly no Islamic radical bent on blowing up Times Square.

Your president claims it supports Israel for 'National Security interests', Isreal being the only 'democracy' in the region. Why then did it not support, but instead overthrew the model democracy of the region, that of Mossadeq's Iran?

The question is now in your hands: In light of the well-documented, internationally recognized illegal atrocities the USA has propagated across the globe, so many of the worst of them (namely Vietnam and Iraq) clearly and without question propagated for propagandized lies, why would you even fathom asking why Iran would act in it's own national interest concerning a morass of Americon-made mania on it's border (assuming that it is in fact doing so, since your own CIA's NIE just unequivocally stated that your claims of Iranian weapons were yet anouther lie by your government-- or did you forget...)???

There is a lot of well-referenced interpolation here, all of interest. It would bear a second read, especially for all you dreaded 'conspiracy theorists'.

But facts are facts, and the fact remains that the people are unfazed by any of these well-evidenced shenanigans:

Gulf of Tonkin proven false flag elicited no discernable response from the populace. Show me the outrage?

Those who postulate about 911 cover-ups without addressing the commission’s failure to properly explain the collapses hobble their efforts. But Scott is right, even the gaps and incongruities within the 'classical' story, coupled with Condi's proven lies and the outing of Plame, etc. points to indisputable false-flag lies upon lies-- and yet... show me the outrage??

"Belief in the ultimate resilience and good sense of the American people"

Not sure I'm following that assertion; Leaving aside the Kennedy conspiracy theories (too much of a cult by now to even follow anymore, apparent LBJ cover-ups aside—anyway, I find upon reflection that Kennedy was a rather dangerous man, between the Bay of Pigs, the Vietnam War, and the Cuban Missile Crisis, see Lo’s blog with Jim Douglas, not that anyone gets to be assassinated for changing course), the Iraq war lies were the scandal of scandals.

911 may by now be old news, which the public finds boring (unless it's about Elvis), but Iraq is as current as can be.

What all this instead shows is that the American people do not have 'good sense', instead they are hypnotized, and at best just don't wanna think about it, and if they do, they run out the party line. Half of them still think Saddam knocked down the towers!

The American people, despite suffering vast personal losses in these events, these false-flag wars, simply refuse to discern or to reject admitted, proven lies.

How could that have come to pass if the American people had 'good sense'? 'Resilient' perhaps but only because they focus only on distracting popular culture and gossip, not on the crimes of their state at their personal expense, and the behest of their impulsive and ill-advise voting for people they ‘wanna have a beer with’.

"America can rediscover the path that has been the secret to its success"
"Success"? Define Success.

I admire the research here, and the energy in the effort, but I can't help but question the basic premise.

What will it take for the people to be "resilient" about demanding truth and justice, and to insist on the 'Success' of their democracy? Do you need a draft to make people have personal stake in bogus wars as Rangel so cynically states? That just reinforces the problem with America, that it only sees right and wrong in terms of selfishness and greed: It doesn’t matter what their elected officials do untill it effects them in their pocket book or their home.

The information is all out there, all over the place, even in prime time. Yet the people prefer FOX.

I agree the computer and the internet were good inventions, great indeed. But Microsoft is a maverick among industrial giants. The rest of it is responsible for the destruction of the fiber of our planet and free-market ethical corruption of our culture at the expense of the third world.

The commonality in all these incidents should conclude that the USA needs to radically change it's weltanschauung: Withdraw behind it's borders, regain it's reserved isolation, retreat from the global stage until such time as it can conduct it's international and internal affairs responsibly, until it can honestly claim "opportunity, dynamism, and moral force". But based on the fact that McBomb trails Obama by only 5 points, that’s not likely to happen any time soon.

Striving to make America a "Hyperpower" of any kind is incongruous with morality, as we see here with such bitter clarity in the horrific postwar events discussed above.
