Brad’s note: Respondents to this online survey, of which I took part this morning, were asked about their stands on various issues as well as how important they deemed each issue. Here are the results based on this blind survey. Respondents were NOT asked about any of the candidates in either party. This was strictly done on the issues. If you look at the top two candidates, you’ll see that this is EXACTLY in line with what I’ve been saying for months now.
Here are some basic stats based on the 55164 submissions to the form (so far). New stats are calculated every five minutes.
The people above are ranked based on how often they are computed to be one of the top three choices for users who submit their political choices. A log entry is made each time a user submits their choices. This log entry contains, among other things, the top three choices for that user. What you see above is a tally of all the choices, weighted by their position for each user. We’ll call that the number of Hot Pockets they have earned. The first-place candidate gets 3 Hot Pockets, the second-place candidate gets 2, and the third-place candidate gets 1 Hot Pocket (which everyone knows is just not enough). This method gives you a more fair representation of the interests of the users.
You would probably be interested to know that Kucinich has been the first choice of 30,193 people (out of 55,164). That wasn’t my intention or expectation when making this site, but it is certainly interesting.
I took it and these are my results:
Kucinich 90
Gravel 76
Obama 46
Richardson 43
Edwards 42
Clinton 42
Dodd 37
Biden 35
Paul 10
Cox -33
McCain -36
Brownback -41
Thompson -41
Huckabee -45
Giuliani -53
Tancredo -73
Romney -84
Hunter -88

Thanks for sharing your outcome from taking the survey, Natureboy. Looks pretty similar to mine.
Btw, this is one of my most popular posts. Thanks to everyone stopping by and please feel free to comment or share your outcome. 🙂
So why isn’t impeachment in there? Guess I’d be disagreeing with all of the remaining on that one!
I don’t know if I may have reversed a couple of the double-negatives, or what I entered for no child left behind– I’m not really sure what it means, except that it’s bad for schools and kids.
I’m so surprised, only 97 for Kucinich (guess I must love him afterall…) and neg. 92 for Hunter (who? That one must be a truely psychotic maniac).
These topics were all horribly indicative of the ghastly state of affairs, you mean there are people who hunt with assult weapons, who want to torture prisoners, and who believe sanctions work, and who want to build a fence against mexicans?? Not possible.
Ron Paul is AGAINST a min wage increase?? WTF! Who could possibly live on min wage, that’s slavery., People who pay min. wage should be banned from hiring, and should be forced to do the work themselves or close down. We don’t need that kind of biz in the USA.
How could you be against a path to citizenship? I’ve sponsored great employees to become citizens, it was an endless nightmare. My favorite and most devoted, hardest working and most supportive loyal co-workers were ALL immigrants! (Small biz owners always work for three people, it seems, and hard workers appreciate that, but in a couple of generations it seems many americans forget about what work means).
Obama is pro torture and anti gay marriage?? Am I reading this right? Maybe I need to start over.
I don’t think many of these issues are about opinions, they are moral issues. Maybe some people are just born sociopaths and have no scruples (as in fully half).
Gravel is pro-gun?? Can’t be. I don’t want to know these things! Or maybe he’s just unknown (I’m definitely not! I’m with Helen Caldicott, take away ALL their gunz).
Maybe I need to take this survey again and be sure I’ve not misconstruesd some of these disagreements.
But I can certainly say that anyone who believes in death penalties must stay as far away from government as possible.

I have no idea, was wondering that myself, John.
