This whole thing really is just one big carnival.
these are all misconceptions…
ron paul was against the war from the beginning as well, and he also has a plan to get rid of the WTO and NAFTA, as well as the federal reserve (the mother of all global corporations) and the IMF, not to mention the CIA, because of all its covert terror operations in third world countries, etc.
while paul is a staunch pro-lifer as a doctor and as a libertarian and a spiritual person who believes all life is holy and begins at conception and no violence should be done to it, especially by someone in the medical field sworn to protect and heal life, he also believes difficult social issues like this should be left up to the states…he has said this on numerous occasions…if you think the debate is settled as to where life begins, you need to read up on your bio-ethics…
paul opposes *all* rulings on the federal level that inhibit local control and governance on these matters…which means california will most likely keep abortion and, well, iowa will most likely scrap it. same goes for gay marriage (of course, libertarians believe everyone should have the same treatment under the law, married or not, and the state should not be involved in such a civil contract at all). or the war on drugs. or socialized health care. this allows for a kind of free market of ideas, competition between the states, with those states that have the best policies receiving the largest share of the population…rather than a centralized mandate on the federal level via bureaucrats who believe they can decide what is in our best interests for us and spend all our money for us–which of course creates a great deal of social tension–it stays within the communities who are closest to the problems at hand.
indeed, i would say that paul’s approach is more democratic than, say, kucinich…who believes he can simply install a national health care system via the mandate of his electorate, which may go against the beliefs and interests of half of the rest of the nation, who may prefer the competition and choice delivered by free market health care.
keep it local and keep it diverse, is paul’s message. and don’t confuse “rights” with entitlements and/or privaleges. you only have a *right* to your life and liberty and the fruits of your labor, your property…you have no *right* to the fruits of someone else’s labor (through taxes and redistribution), just as you have no *right* to their life and liberty.
this is what our constitution is all about. look at your state flag. mine says “republic of california.” the original intent was that every state should be a republic unto itself loosely confederated with the national defense provided by the federal government. as soon as the united states of America became the corporation of the United States, however, we have continued to slide further and further into soviet-style economic central planning, and this is why someone like Bush can take the reigns and ruin everything.
when you build the perfect toilet, the perfect shitter is bound to sit on it.
namaste. know true peace. believe what you want to believe. but don’t force a national mandate on the rest of us. this is at the heart of the non-aggression principle.

Namiste,
Oh my Buddha,
This guy is actually saying that a woman doesn’t have a choice if they wish to carry a baby to term or not if it is with in their own body? Wow what a trip and wants to reverse Row V.S. Wade which is now Law…
Wow I sure hope that this guy never makes it into being a front runner for the Republican Party. Wanting to take away a women’s right to decide to bring life into the world or not which it is their own bodies?
Vote for Kucinich is the only one who has a plan to end WTO and NAFTA and ending the war!!!
Wow he tries to sound like Kucinich doesn’t he, but Kucinich was against the war and voted against it before it started!!!!
More people should studyup more on Kucinich as the main person who should be the next president. Check into his views and be a learned voter!!!
Namiste and peace,
William

you know, i really wish some people would get over the first part and watch the rest of this fantastic speech…(where he talks about no less than scrapping the federal reserve, the irs and the 16th amendment, the WTO, IMF and NAFTA, the federal department of education, using the second amendment to defend ourselves against terrorists, revisiting the fourteenth amendment which corporations have used to justify their “personhood” for years, etc., in other words, demolishing the entire global-corporatist infrastructure that has undermined our country for generations)
and i’m still not sure why some so-called “liberals” are so upset about paul’s views on abortion, coming from a doctor who has delivered over 4,000 babies…especially those of the green/environmentalist variety…how can you disagree with a man who values LIFE first and foremost on all fronts…whether it means being against the war (and all wars of aggression), being against the death penalty, or being against abortion…no matter how you cut it, abortion *is* the extinguishing of a viable life, and way too many in the “pro-choice” movement are inclined to cheapen life by treating it as disposable…(i challenge you to show me a spiritual/religious tradition that does *not* hold that life beings at conception…would a buddhist, for that matter, be comfortable with going into a woman’s body and vacuuming out the fetus?). this also goes back to the fundamental principle *all* libertarians uphold: namely, the non-aggression principle. not to mention the hippocratic oath of the medical profession.
for the first time in my life, i am reconsidering my views on abortion, for precisely these reasons. yes, paul is right. you cannot protect liberty if you have a low respect for life, and i am especially worried that roe v. wade will pave the way for eugenics-type experiments in the near future.
not to mention abortion is really inexcusable in age of immediate on-demand contraception and day-after pills…and the fact that, despite his reservations, paul would prefer to leave the matter, and all social issues like this, to the individual states (even if we define life as beginning at conception…it would still be up to the states to decide how to legally handle that life)
and paul has said he would be much less harsh on immigration if it weren’t for the welfare state and the problem of subsidizing illegal activity. it is more of an economic problem to him, rather than a social one. remember, libertarians (like paul) believe a truly free market with truly free trade (no, not NAFTA) would do a lot toward bringing people together across border lines and ethnic lines, because people would be rewarded based solely on merit, rather than skin-color or geography…many so-called “liberal” policies, on the other hand, have deepened the cultural divide by assigning the federal loot according to group-identity interests, whether it be gays or women or blacks or what have you, not to mention affirmative-action type policies which, again, rewards people based on their skin-color. and, of course, there is much fighting over who should get the most loot. it is another example of the law of opposites when it comes to government intervention on these issues.
so to those who say paul is anti-woman and/or racist…i challenge you to reconsider your principles, as i have.

We will overcome in a similar way that Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and our Founding Fathers who faced tough odds and succeeded in bringing positive change to the world. This is not about one election. It is about a way of life.
The American people are against those in Washington starting illegal preemptive unnecessary wars, spying on the American people, and spending money they do not have. That is why disproval ratings of Congress and President are at historic lows.
Americans want a leader who actually believes in the Constitution, which is incredibly rare in Washington these days.
Ron Paul never voted for the Iraq War
He voted against the Patriot Act
He voted against regulating the Internet
A big problem with our electoral process is that the old media generally supports the richest candidates (who got their money from special interest). Those are the worst candidates because they are owned by special-interest and lobbyists. Hopefully the internet will help restore balance and choice.
Dr. Ron Paul is the only major candidate not owned by special-interest, military-industrial-complex, big corporations, bankers, lobbyists, etc. Fix the system and vote Ron Paul. And tell everyone you know. Now is the time to set ourselves free.
The American people know that something is very wrong in Washington. The American people want change!

he makes me vomit instantly.
Change is scary, but change is necessary.
We’ve declared war on everything, and won None. Drugs, Education, Labor(?), Poverty, Terrorist, Supposed Terrorist(oops), Cultures, Ecetera… .
What happened to Traditions, Heritage, Social Structure’s, Speach, Self-Defense, Ownership, are these now Non-Constitutional? Were these Ideas Outdated, or did the Founding Father’s realize that Monolithic Structures were a Determent to FREEDOM of the Individual.
All these “New” ideas of the Federalized Corporate Govt. of America, are designed to favor the Corporation over the Individual. How did this happen, some slick Lawyer’s convinced a Supreme Court that a Corporation is the same as an Individual. Haven’t seen any Corporation’s in Prison, have you ? I, know people who have not Injured/Harmed any one who’ve been placed in prison, with Mandatory Sentences, wonder why Violent Crimials are released?

Concerning the big Cheese’s youtube video, I’m thinking that most of those Ron Paul supporters are trying to get the world to notice that they are, indeed, not “just the internet”. There’s a surprising level of media indifference going on so I don’t blame Paul’s supporters from trying to get noticed.
And, they seem to actually be passionate about their candidate, which is something you don’t see every day. 9% of the votes after 4 days from a tough crowd of Iowans who generally support the war and federal subsidies, isn’t all that bad.
THE FREEDOM REVOLUTION IS COMING!!!!!!
