An invasion of privacy? Or a valuable weapon in the fight against crime?America’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is embarking on a billion-dollar plan to build the world’s largest biometric database.
The scheme would see not only fingerprints and eyes scanned, but physical characteristics and even scars stored on record.
Critics say the plan will lead to people’s bodies becoming de facto identification cards.
Nick Spicer reports.

“I guess that the end justifies the Means, none for me thanks, I protect myself, Oh wait I can’t. Well at least you can watch the replay my death over and over til its no longer news worthy.”
Remind you of anything? “Don’t tase me bro!!”
I recently got a passport, which to my dismay came fully stocked with a “microchip” all to better to “identify my body” in case of “terrorist attacks” in foreign or domestic attacks…
Dear George,
NO Fucking THANK YOU. Take your micro chips and embed them in the real criminals! The damn politicians who get paid by Haliburton and Blackwater stock…
Merry Fucking Christmas
Welcome to 1984.
Just because something could be abused is not sufficient reason for a tool to be discarded.
jonolan would have people belive that video can’t be altered, or that video can save lives, or that video can capture people. Its a Virtual world you must live in too.
As if Law Enforcement is correct all the time, innocent men and women are in prison, & some have been executed from shoddy law enforcement work, that was performed by Human Beings.
I guess that the end justifies the Means, none for me thanks, I protect myself, Oh wait I can’t. Well at least you can watch the replay my death over and over til its no longer news worthy. Cheers jonolan and a happy new year
There’s the first one!
Oh yeah, information is a bad thing for our government to have. We can’t have law enforcement knowing anything …
Who decides Who is Criminal ?
Who decides What is criminal ?
Criminals deciding Citizens are Criminal,
like Citizens dis-senting maybe,
or Citizens not signed up for the party in power,
or maybe displaying public affection,
or Religion,
or Jay-Walking,
or a ?,
or ?,
or ?, ???? Come on ! Who gets the contract, and Who pays for the contract, and who is Liable for mistakes ?
We already know what happen with non-responsibility, and non-accountability, mistakes happen true, but over, and over.
Paint balls, paint baggies, paint ballons, to tag violators of Citizens civil rights ! Citizen’s Arrest, its our right, even a COP !
Take the Government and shove it back to What the Founding Fathers gave, a Goverment by the People, for the people, and of CONSENT of the People.
Evict all the useless Dem. and Rep. Incumbents,
a Third Party, we need to Investigate, and prosecute the Corrupt politicians who’ve profitted from all the Illegal Wars on, Poverty, Illeteracy, Drugs, Ecetera…, Ecetera…., Ecetera…! Have “we” won any ?
I imagine the Right will equally scream and rant about this. It’s an erosion of our civil rights and privacy rights.
Since this would help law enforcement in countless ways, I’m sure the Left will scream and rant about it.
