I posted a link to this site a couple of years ago on my myspace blog and thought I’d repost here, too. As you can see, I’m a leftie. ~ Lo

US Primaries 2008
Political Compass
Thursday 22 November 2007
In response to many requests, not only from Americans, The Political Compass™ has charted the most prominent names in the 2008 US Primaries. They have been evaluated through scrutiny of public statements, manifestos, interviews and, crucially, voting records. Our apologies for those not included.
It is important to recognise that The Political Compass™ is a continuum rather than consisting of hard and fast quadrants. For example, Ron Paul on the social scale is actually closer to Dennis Kucinich than to many figures within his own party. But on the economic scale, they are, of course, far apart.
When examining the chart it is important to note that although most of the candidates seem quite different, in substance they occupy a relatively restricted area within the universal political spectrum. Democracies with a system of proportional representation give expression to a wider range of political views. While Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel are depicted on the extreme left in an American context, they would simply be mainstream social democrats within the wider political landscape of Europe. Similarly, Hillary Clinton is popularly perceived as a leftist in the United States while in any other western democracy her record is that of a moderate conservative.

now im not as far down as you guys im -1 -1 rather close to the middle. But power left doesn’t make you different it just means you have different political views towards social freedom and economic freedom. Libertarian left means that your views are that your closer to a state controlled market meaning you choose how much someone earns for their job and what job they do, but you give people freedom in the way of control over their lives.

Thanks for the company in the bottom left corner, John. I was feeling rather alone there. 😉
Being on the left doesn’t mean you’re against private property.
The bottom left corner means you’re an anarchist who’s against capitalism so basically a left wing anarchist. The bottom right would be for libertarians who are anarcho-capitalists meaning anarchists who support free market capitalism. The top left is for people who support communist dictators. The top right is for people who support theocracies and capitalist dictators. Basically its bad if you don’t fit somewhere in the bottom left square. I’m like 2 dots higher than Dandelion and 1 dot to the right.
Haha, nike, yep, I’m pretty far left. Always have been and likely to stay this way. Cheers, my friend.
Damn lo, your even farther left then me. Don’t know tha code for pics on here or I’d post it.

I ended up right close to Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, a tiny bit more diagonally toward the center (probably because I believe in private property, but only because it’s the only way I can legally keep the friggin’ hunters outa tha woods!… also I saw a NOVA once where the constellations were plotted from other angles, so my Athena Starwoman fixation thing got sorta debunked, but not totally, since the season one’s born in is perhaps important to one’s attitude, especially in temperate climes).
But most ‘important’ people ended up somewhere in that upper-right quadrant to one degree or another—What’s up with that?? More evidence I’m just not normal, and therefore can’t possibly understand why people behave and think the way they do (lol~).
