Iranian President Ahmadinejad DID NOT threaten to “wipe Israel off the map.” http://representativepress.blogspot.c…
“There is no new policy,” Ahmadinejad said. “They created a lot of hue and cry over that.” Ahmadinejad added, “It is clear what we say: Let the Palestinians participate in free elections and they will say what they want.”

Does Iran’s President Want Israel Wiped Off The Map – Does He Deny The Holocaust?

Experts confirm that Iran’s president did not call for Israel to be ‘wiped off the map’. Reports that he did serve to strengthen western hawks.

What has been confirmed by human rights groups has also been observed directly by journalists.

President Ahmadinejad was talking about the occupying regime which is a form of government. On Feb 20, 2006 Iran’s foreign minister said, “He is talking about the regime.”

President Ahmadinejad also said in his speech that the issue with Palestine would be over “the day that all refugees return to their homes [and] a democratic government elected by the people comes to power.”

In his letter to Bush (see Text of Iranian President’s Letter to President Bush:
http://representativepress.blogspot.c…), he asks, “are we to understand that allowing the original inhabitants of these lands – inside and outside Palestine – whether they are Christian, Muslim or Jew, to determine their fate, runs contrary to principles of democracy, human rights and the teachings of prophets?”

Mike Wallace Interviewed Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on 60 Minutes. At the request of the Iranian President Ahmadinejad, the FULL UNEDITED version was shown on C-SPAN. “The cable public affairs net will air the 60 Minutes edited version, followed by the full 90-minute interview, to give viewers a window on what is left on the cutting room floor.” – John Eggerton — Broadcasting & Cable, 8/11/2006
We can see what they cut out, a call for democracy.

Apologize to the World Mr. Wallace & Return that Emmy
In this letter to the editor of the Washington Post, Iran’s U.N. Press Officer, stated: “It is not amazing at all, the pick-and-choose approach of highlighting the misinterpreted remarks of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in October and ignoring this month’s remarks by Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, that “We have no problem with the world. We are not a threat whatsoever to the world, and the world knows it. We will never start a war. We have no intention of going to war with any state.

“Our suggestion is very clear: . . . Let the Palestinian people decide their fate in a free and fair referendum, and the result, whatever it is, should be accepted.” – President Ahmadinejad

“Is Palestine, as a nation, considered a nation with the right to live under humane conditions or not? Let’s allow those rights to be enforced for these 5 million displaced people.” – President Ahmadinejad

  15. So why are there Jews living peacefully in Iran today?

Do you have proof that the country is working on nuclear weapons?

  16. You’re so right!!!

Ahmadinejad would not want to wipe Israel from map, he wants to kill Jews, just like Hitler and that is why he is working hard on developing nukes. Oh and after that he plans to deny that… just like he denies those killings during WW2.

  24. 5 months after that disinformation the Senate passed the Kyl Lieberman act that made Iran a terrorist state and under the Bush administration’s loose interpretation of every under the legal sun gave them authority to bomb Iran.

Its interesting to note that Hillary voted for it and the two people that did not vote at all on this was: McCain and Obama.

Its also interesting that obviously Lieberman was the sponsor, but another co-sponsor was McCain cheerleader Lindsey Graham.

  25. It is indeed amazing, but, unfortunately, they rely on the same talking heads that the rest of us do. The beauty of the internet is that we aren’t bound by just the news channels we get on our television; we can get it from any source we wish, whether it’s this blog or CNN.

You’d hope that people would research the bombastic statements that the media proclaims leader of country X made… Maybe they still believe in journalistic integrity.

  26. leapsecond, I thought the same thing and I often refer to it, so finally moved it over to this blog.

My Congressman actually repeated the misstatement in a letter he wrote to me in reply to one I wrote to him. And now he’s running for Gov! Amazing.

  27. Thanks for reposting this: it’s pretty valuable information.
