  1. Sorry about that, it wasn’t intentional. Just took the first couple paragraphs and left the link to read the rest of the story at the original source.

Thanks for adding the additional info, batg.

  2. dan-

You made it much better in format.

It does leave out the central reason I put it up- the FBI agents working on this crime have been systematically removed and funding removed via Justice under the Bush administration.

The argument was everyone assigned to National Security duties, which left white collar crime- fraud- free to create the ponsi scheme we are in now, and the bailout may be more of the same.

  3. FBI struggles to handle wave of financial fraud cases

By Eric Lichtblau, David Johnston and Ron Nixon
    Published: October 19, 2008

Statistics from a research group at Syracuse University in New York State, the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, using somewhat different methodology and looking only at the FBI, show an even steeper decline of nearly 50 percent in overall white-collar crime prosecutions in the same period.

In addition to the investigations into Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the FBI is carrying out investigations of American International Group and Lehman Brothers, and it has opened more than 1,500 other mortgage-related investigations. Some FBI officials worry privately that the trillion-dollar U.S. bailout of the financial industry may itself become a problem because it contains inadequate controls to deter fraud.

  9. It’s obvious that this bailout scam was planned well in advance.

One thing is sure, no matter what shockingly coincidental emergency befalls us next, we MUST oust this traitorous regime from the White House!
I don’t hear a word being said about conducting a major investigation into the criminal wrong-doing in high places that has led to this calamity. We can only assume we will get the same level of cooperation, justice, and oversight that was afforded the american people the aftermath of 9/11, Abu Ghraib, and hurricane Katrina.

I’m just gonna say point blank that if we don’t see hundreds of these scoundrels imprisoned in the aftermath of this scandal, we the people are gonna cease to give our government the benefit of the doubt. We are no longer going to allow them to imprison us for our supposed crimes either. This is going to mark the end of business as usual in the United States.
