  6. Mr. Kucinich:

I sent you money for your Quixotic run for president. I voted for you in the primaries. I saw you as a man of principal and integrity. But, today I am shocked to see that you put those principles ahead of the welfare and security of ‘Main Street’. I’m sorry, but your irresponsible vote against the ‘bailout’ (I call it an ‘investment’) has helped to fuel a trillion dollar loss (and likely much more) of investors such as myself who are NOT ‘wall street barons’. I’m a hard working woman who had hopes of retirement crushed when a 401k that I had few choices in how it was invested tanked. I am the friend of a retired teacher who now is considering finding work at walmart because her small retirement fun has now been decimated.

Yes, national health care is important, so is the debt crisis and social security. But, there are times and places to put forth these things and yesterday was not one of them. 12 years of Republican rule of the House and Senate, 8 years of a failed presidency were in the spotlight. Americans who had been blinded were beginning to understand their culpability. It was your responsibility and those of your fellow Democrats to be magnanimous and kind to reach out to those of us who did NOT participate in ‘Wall Street Greed” to help us with something we had little control over. Instead, you included us in the punishment. This is NOT the Dennis Kucinich that I had grown to respect and support.
