I’m with John on this issue, let the workers take over the company.
The companies with solid plans, good business models, good leadership and good products will survive. The ones that don’t survive will go under, but other companies or new companies will pick up the manufacturing. The additional products will still be created, sold, distributed.

Don’t bail out the auto companies. Nationalize them as well as the banks and put them under the workers’ control.
No question the auto industry would be bailed out if Congress hadn’t pissed all the money (with no strings attached) on the financial graft industry.
Like a Thrid World Country, that can’t build a D#@&ed thing, dependant on “other’s” to provide necessary components, toys, and Vehicles/Vessels.
A shame that neither Kucinich[peace], Paul[end the Fed,], Nader[corruption buster], McKinney[civil rights] did not become the President, who’d be For, By, and Of the “people”.
