Eric Margolis: Israel has handed the Obama administration a ‘fait accompli’ Pt. 3/3
In our 3rd part of our interview with journalist Eric Margolis The Real News discussed the degree of support by Egypt, the PA and other Arab governments for Israel’s destruction of Hamas.
Margolis says because “Hamas is regarded by the U.S. backed governments in the Middle East as a dire threat” that much of the support for it’s destruction is a result of fear by these Oligarichal nations. “Hamas is coming along with a revolutionary message, aire the wealth, we’ll take care of the people….stand up agaisnt Israel,stop licking the hands of the Americans” a message that is met with staunch opposition by these U.S. backed Arab dictator led nations.
With the end of the Bush administration and the beginning of the Obama administration Margolis feels that “this is Bushes last act… I think Bush gave the green light for this Israeli attack. I think this was planned.”

Aftermath of attacks on Tar El Hawa district
The Tar El Hawa neighbourhood has been the scene of particularly heavy fighting. Red Crescent facilities, a hospital and residential apartment blocks were among the buildings hit by the Israeli bombardment.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent Sherine Tadros has been to see the aftermath and has found yet more evidence of Israel’s apparent use of white phosphorous – a weapon that is illegal to use in civilian areas. AlJazeeraEnglish

Israel shelling of a United Nations compound in Gaza City
http://www.euronews.net The headquarters of UN relief agencies in Gaza has been hit by Israeli shells, injuring three people. Aid supplies have also been set alight.
