  5. Congress’ relationship with Israel is not a “romantic slumber.” It is
    the result of years of propaganda and a lot of lobby money on the
    part of the Zionist interests. As a famous writer noted decades
    ago, when it comes to the relationship between Israel and the United
    States, one doesn’t know which one is the tail and which one is the
    dog.

  6. Of course, Israel’s actions were determined by the U.S. political calendar. Israel’s generals have already admitted that the plan just enacted in Gaza has been on the table for over a year.

    It was specifically designed to begin during the Bush Admin. when Israel had unilateral, unqualified support of Bush and to end just prior to the inauguration of Obama.

    Congress needs to wake up from its romantic slumber of Israel’s perpetual rightness to see the conflict in the clear light of Israel today.
