SPECIAL COMMENT
Cheney doing the work of terrorists

By Keith Olbermann

updated 8:15 p.m. CT, Thurs., Feb. 5, 2009

Finally tonight, as promised, a Special Comment on former Vice President Cheney’s remarks about the prospects of future terrorist attacks in this country. Flatly, it may be time for Mr. Cheney to leave this country.

The partisanship, divisiveness and naiveté to which he ascribed every single criticism of his and President Bush’s delusional policies of the last eight years, have now roared forth in a destructive and uninformed diatribe from Mr. Cheney, that can only serve to undermine the nation’s new president, undermine the nation’s effort to thwart terrorism, and undermine the nation itself.

  2. Nice comment from Walid, except I don’t think there was ever a time when the US was as he describes. The thing is, now the illusion of the US being a gatekeeper of truth, etc., is irretrievably gone, and Americans have to look honestly at what the US has become in order to change it into what they want it to be.

As for Cheney, the day he took office as veep, he should have been strapped to a rocket and shot into outer space. But since we didn’t do that, now is a good time for looking into the possibility of locking his vile a** in prison for crimes against humanity.

Just think, just imagine how much different things would be now if only Cheney had not been in power. The least we can do now is stop listening to his paranoid ravings. Shame on any news source who continues to spread his messages of fear, hate and doom.

  3. I have to admit that I’m a fan of Keith’s comments, only because he tells it as it is, warts and all, like it or not. America is dying of thirst for commentators like Keith who have the courage, principles, political savvy, no-nonsense facts and honest concern for what the likes of Dick Cheney and his neocon cronies have done to the heart, mind, soul and psyche of America. America’s soul, which Dick cheney has no inkling or interest of what it’s about, has been bleeding profusely for way too long. Our good old USA, the gatekeeper of truth, justics and morality was injured badly by the previous catastrophic administration, and needs a great deal of soul searching and healing to enable her to be restored to her proud fundamentals, to her founding moral principles, to her bedrock of freedom, democracy and the true American way, which once meant so much to many of us in this highly-confused world, and which we used to love and cherish. Mr. Cheney, the damage you and your ex-boss have inflicted in the name of patriotism and God has set the world’s economy and security back decades – so if you have any thread of decency left in your pathetic yet still dangerous mind, please refrain from trying to give any more advices, for you’ve done more than enough damage already. I take my hat off for you Keith, and I know that you’ll do your best to expose relentless, sinister characters of doom like Mr. Cheney.

  6. I agree, classic Keitho.

Yesterday Rick Sanchez on CNN was scrolling live responses from viewers, one said something to the effect of “wouldn’t put it past Dick to hire some terrorists to stage something just to prove Obama wrong”.

    Hmmm.

In any case, and leaving cheney’s mania and threats aside, let’s not forget how many people his wars have rendered justifiably blind with rage. Let’s also not forget that his ‘war on terror’ has done nothing to secure US cities against likely revenge.

Fear-mongering aside, we are in a far worse position regarding calamitous terrorist strikes in our sitting-duck cities than before botchco. I think radical islam will never forget what we’ve done.

Chainy is a smirking, self-fulfilling prophecy waiting to happen.
