Thanks. Yes. Continuing to support the lesser of two evils will ensure longer suffering…
I have known Dr. Wolfe, since he worked on the Ford Pinto case , with my father. My family knows Dr. Himmilestein. But, it didnt become personal for me, until I was hit by a rich, drunk driver, my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, and, my father with brain cancer—the same type that Kennedy is experiencing now, but, probably with worse health care, even though he was an “insured, tenured” professor.
I spent 6 mos in a WorkCamp in W. Europe, and was treated in Denmark, Norway and Italy—I never dreamed we’d still be arguing this one now…
I spent many years working with “mentally disabled” who were all on Medicaid, and was appalled. I am now on Medicaid myself, and, afraid to try to return to work, even with a Master’s degree (the last position I had, I had to sign a pre-existing conditions clause to get on the County’s plan!!)
If the Democrats do not do this now, they are as morally impaired as the GOP and dont deserve to have progressives ever vote for their candidates again.
KDelphi, so sorry to hear about what happened to you and your family. Unfortunately, your story (minus the 6 mos in a workcamp) is all too familiar to many, many Americans both uninsured and under-insured.
Your last point is critical: the Democrats must pass Single Payer Universal Healthcare or we don’t vote for them ever again.
