ds–thanks! I will read it tomorrow…looks good!
I can see that he talks about the “new Reason” stuff, which, I cannot subscribe to at all…I dont see any “reason” (sorry) for there to be a group for atheism at all, and their dogmatism is truly strange.
It sesem to be the new excuse for not having a personal morality of compassion.
Oh, I let them know, all right!
It may be true that many want to know—but I didnt get any response from the posters. I was just a little surprised. I noticed that the uSA doesnt have a rep for “Our Journey” yet….I hope that we get one
I like Hedges and have read most of his books, except the one on atheism, because I dont think, being non-religious, I would like it much. But, I’ll get around to it.
Pretty good for a seminary boy–lol.
Great that you do let them know. We must keep the pressure on them.
Oops, is that where you got the website?
Thanks. It is worth reading.
But, I felt sure that once I started ‘talking” to him, these “progressives” would, too…since they are all so concerned about the human effects of war…
KDelphi, you probably read it somewhere else as Chris Hedges’ work is published on a lot of sites. I met him after he gave a talk in my town a few months ago and I asked him if it was OK to republish his pieces from Truthdig, etc and he said OK. So he is now a Featured Writer for Dandelion Salad.
Many Americans want to know what’s really going on in Afghanistan and Iraq where our tax dollars are going to destroy these countries.
Our Representatives and Senators need to know how we feel about the continued funding for these wars, too.
I recieved an email from (a child, I think??) named Hakim on this yesterday, after he gave me his email address on a website , where the story was “permanent war” (Hedges), where, they had regressed tinto talking about “the educational system”–I tried to get people back on topic with one of OJTM’s videos–but no one was interetesd…sigh.
Here’s Hedges’ piece: https://dandelionsalad.wordpress.com/2009/05/18/the-disease-of-permanent-war-by-chris-hedges/
Its unbearable.
