“I think a bill that passes the Senate will have some version of a public option,” said Montana Sen. Max Baucus, the Senate Finance Chairman. His remarks come two days after President Barack Obama signaled in a letter that a public competitor to the private health insurance companies was a key part of his agenda.

  7. A “public plan”, under the conditions proposed by GOP and the Blue Dogs, would just become a giant Medicaid pool–which, will remain lousy, until enough middle class people end up in it to protest it.

The problem with it it that it still views health care as a “free mkt commoditiy”, something to be “consumed”-as in “heatlh insurance consumers”–it is NOT a “choice” peeps, and, the only CHOICE that people want is good heatlh care from a good doctor.

I’m on Medicaid now and, I have had to put thousands and thousands of dollars of heatlh care bills on credit cards. NO one accepts it, and, they turn down everything, at least once.

Health care is a human right. We are CITIZENS (not “consumers” to our “representatives”). When we are ill or injured, we are PATIENTS.

Until our reps see that, we will continue to lag way behind the civilized world.
