Over the weekend, President Barack Obama called for cuts in funding for Medicare and Medicaid, the federal health insurance programs for the elderly and the poor, including the elimination of subsidies for hospitals that treat uninsured patients. This proposal, combined with plans to limit medical tests and treatments, underscores the reactionary, anti-working class character of Obama’s proposed “reform” of the health care system.

[…]

In a speech before the American Medical Association (AMA) in Chicago on Monday, President Obama made it clear that his health care reform would in no way impinge on the profit interests of insurance companies, hospital chains and drug companies. He added that he was open to limiting the ability of patients to pursue medical malpractice suits.

  3. This is what Democrats always do, although they claim to be “for the common person”

Clinton helped cut the deficit on the backs of welfare moms and NAFTA. The “credit card bill of rights” set no monthly rates limits (per usual, they denied Sanders amendment that would have capped rates)and as any low income person has probably noted, they just changed most low income peoples’ credit card rates to “adjustable”, to which the “bill” (which is lame anyway) does not apply. And, its retroactive.

(Someone will say, “well why does a poor person have a credit card anyway? medical bills, silly!) Yep…thousands and thousands, all now at adjustable rates..this is why we need parties representing Labour, Socialists, Libertarian and proportional represesntation.

    Thanks, Dems.

They could, at least, not make things WORSE for those already hurting…
