Thinking that the people in Iran with signs in English are actually asking America to get involved is an incredibly ignorant claim. I have read that English is actually a fairly widely used language in Iran, and you’ll notice that Iranian police actually have the English word “Police” on their signs. It’s a serious mistake to assume that they are “asking for our help” by carrying signs. Unless the leaders of the uprising specifically ask for western aid, then it would be incredibly presumptuous of us to assume they want it. This is a delicate situation, and I think we need to have more respect for the Iranian people – they don’t need us to meddle without thinking.
