More than 100 Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) countries have welcomed Iran’s involvement to vote on a proposal, which bans attacks on nuclear installations.
“More than 100 NAM members supported Iran’s proposal to be presented at the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) general conference in September,” Fars news agency quoted Iran’s IAEA envoy Ali-Asghar Soltaniyeh as saying on Monday.
Soltaniyeh also pointed out that the Egyptian envoy that holds the presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) formally announced the support in a letter to the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency Mohamed ElBaradei on Monday.

France will support ‘severe’ Iran sanctions

The French President says his country will push for ‘severe’ economic sanctions against Iran if Tehran refuses to halt its nuclear program through talks.
“France will support severe economic sanctions, commensurate with what is at stake, in the United Nations Security Council and the European Council,” AFP quoted Nicolas Sarkozy as saying at a speech in Paris on Wednesday.

As part of Israel’s anti-Iran campaign, Tel Aviv has apparently agreed with a partial freeze on its illegal construction of settlements on Palestinian land in return for tougher sanctions against Tehran.
Ahead of a meeting with US Middle East envoy George Mitchell in London, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that his government is making headway in its talks with the US.
According to the Israeli echelon, Tel Aviv may soon resume the long-stalled peace talks with the Palestinians.

Where are the sanctions agains Israel for having nuclear weapons and not allowing inspection of them or for not jooining or signing the non-proliferation treaty?
Iran has allowed inspectors in, and they have reported that Iran’s nuclear energy program is just that–for energy.
Could these new sanctions be about trying to grab control on Iran’s rknown and recently discovered reserves?
