Best Books, A Bill Moyers Essay

There’s one book in particular I would put in everybody’s stocking if I could. It’s not new – it was actually published three years ago. But I read it again this month, and found its message more relevant than ever. This is it: NEMESIS: THE LAST DAYS OF THE AMERICAN REPUBLIC, by Chalmers Johnson.

  6. This is another victory for the plutocracy, the Republican party and Joe Liebermann. There will never be, in our lifetime, reasonable health care in this country. We had better face the nasty facts. Ours is not a government “of the people, by the people, for the people”. We’re just kidding ourselves.
