Two things. Firstly on the facebook page of Yousef Al-Helou, who is the reporter stationed inside Gaza, he said this:

Updates from Gaza: George Galloway is stuck in Rafah crossing, he is not allowed to leave Gaza, some say he is being maltreated now.

And also I was sent this (thanks) link, it’s in Arabic, so you have to use google to translate the link, but it says that Egypt plans to arrest 7 convoy members when they leave Gaza and enter Egypt.

[Google Translate: Egypt was preparing for the arrest of seven of the convoy]

  3. The linkage here is so important, between the Viva palestine peace convoy – which has been making a huge international stir over Israel’s seige against Gaza – and Israel’s attack on Gaza. The timing speaks for itself – Israel is trying to change the narrative. It’s a pr stunt, and it’s a big risk for them, which shows that the international outrage against the Gaza siege is having an impact. it’s a huge risk because trying to change the narrative from israel’s brutality by committing another act of brutality is obviously very chancy. It could backfire on israel. so how complete is international control by global corporatist media over the news? Can they succeed in spinning this so that it changes the narrative in the way Israel seems to be shooting for?
