Perhaps Eric Massa’s been discredited at this point, but I did think that he was right in his assessment that Rahm Emanuel would essentially tie Massa’s children to railroad tracks in order to whip up a vote in Rahm’s favor. Moulitsas and Emanuel, in this observer’s humble opinion, are undoubtedly birds of a feather. Anyone standing in front of the way of the gift to the health insurance near monopolies, is as good as cannon fodder. Is Moulitsas at the trough of largess that the health insurance industry doles out to buy their allegiance in Washington? With no discernible presence of investigative journalism in this country that can be difficult to establish; but what is clear, however, is how the shills for the corporatocracy close ranks, when the corporatist agenda is contested.

Anyone who thinks that perhaps the public sector could do a better job than the private one on virtually anything, is chewed up by the Democratic-Republican Party’s meat grinder and swiftly spirited off to Nowheresville — or perhaps the Central African Republic as was done to former Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide. Anyone standing in the way of historic health care reform (sic) is as good as dead. It’s times like these where establishments like Kos’s web blog should be illuminating people to the mystifications of the ‘liberal’ Democrats, but in good standing as a card carrying Republican-Democrat that’s precisely the opposite of what Kos seems to be pursuing.

To continue to remain in good standing with all the apparatchiks, to retain invites to the smoke filled rooms and galas, this is apparently the sort of thing that is required. What is ‘right’, what is ‘fair’, what is ‘just’, what makes ’sense’, these are trivial matters that can be all but 86′d and/or thrown out. What is important, what does matter is closing ranks on pending legislation that will be a colossal expenditure of money but produce a lilliputian body of results. But diminishing returns is what the Democratic Party specializes in (the allegedly separate entity of the aforementioned Democratic-Republican party), at least since the late 1960’s or early 1970’s.

For the Democrats to continue to produce a lot of sweat, and a little bit of outcome you have to be willing to get down into the mud. You have to be willing to throw just about anybody under the bus! So congratulations Mr. Moulitsas, congratulations apparatchiks far and wide, you added your two cents on this matter. And not only that, but many of the stenographers er press persons, in the ‘alternative’ media have trumpeted your comments about the echo chamber as well! You are no doubt reveling in your ‘achievement’ and the inestimable Congressman Dennis Kucinich has been ‘fitfully’ redressed.

Sean Fenley is an independent progressive who would like to see the end of the dictatorial duopoly of the so-called two party adversarial system.     I never could quite understand why his blog was THE blog to go to in 2008… I always figured it was because he was a lawyer, and so knew how to rebut GOP corp/legal talking points effectively.
    Let’s face it folks: Rahm Emanuel, GoldmanSachs, and the Neo-Con War Lobby are SYNONYMOUS.
    Emanuel is FAR CLOSER to PAUL WOLFOWITZ, BILL KRISTOL, and Lloyd BLANKFEIN, than he is to any working-stiff Democratic voters.
    (Emanuel was almost certainly SHOEHORNED into his lucrative $18 MILLION in 2 1/2 year gig at Wasserstein-Perella Chicago “boutique investment bankers” in 1998, by then Clinton’s very powerful Treasury Secretary, Robt. Rubin, when Emanuel departed the Clinton White House as a “Senior advisor” just before the Ken Starr/Tom DeLay “Monica” impeachment came down the pike.
    Emanuel traded his inside DC / Dem. party credentials, to help Wasserstein shove some “Merges & Acquisitions” deals through – the kind of deals which always see 1/3rd of the taken-over companies employees let go, and usually the LBO banksters make a big “hit” on the target company’s EMPLOYEE PENSION FUND as well… using the “FREE” or “FIAT MONEY” the Fed gives to its member, owner banks, specifically so they can hunt down every profitable asset in America – and the world – and gobble ’em up, usually at employee or taxpayer expense. (See Ellen Hodgson Brown “Web of Debt” or John Perkins, “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” for the process whereby Emanuel “earned” his $18 million in just over 2 years.)
    Since Emanuel was NANCY PELOSI’s pick to be head of the DCCC in those crucial 2006 mid-term elections…
    and since Emanuel is Obama’s Rasputin, the effective Consigliere in charge of the ENTIRE Obmaa White House – that means that Emanuel is effectively the Boss of the ENTIRE “Democrat” Party, House, Senate, White House, and state-wide Dem. branches as well….
    ….i.e., the ENTIRE “Democrat” Party has been co-opted – HIJACKED – by THE WAR PARTY, GolddamnSachs & Big Finance, and the Israel lobby. (All of which are synonymous – one hand washes the other.)
    Until all Democrats face this sad (and/or terrible) fact, there will be NO change of course, the Wall Streeters can POUR TOO MUCH MONEY IN to KILL any of their opposition – see Paul Wellstoned, of this article, Moulitsas putting the “hit” on Kucinich.

    When I first read that article, a LIGHTBULB, “aha” moment went off: SO THAT’s WHY D.C. Democrats REFUSED to make REPUBLICAN CRIMINAL SCANDALS and CONVICTIONS of 2006 an issue during the election:
    – JACK ABRAMOFF VISITING the BUSH White House before he was CONVICTED of BRIBING CONGRESS;

  8. Lawrence O’Donnell is the real “party hack” here. He has opposed the public option and single payer from the beginning.

    He had Rep. Dennis Kucinich on the night before and was too cowardly to confront Dennis when he said that the Senate bill is just a giveaway to the medical insurance cartel.

    Instead, O’Donnell had Moultisas do the smearing of Dennis for him. Dispicable!

  10. I’ve heard the CIA rumor about Moulitsas years ago. I heard he applied to the the CIA for employment and ended up with his blog at about the same time.

    Dennis Kucinich has been the conscience of the Democratic Party ever since Paul Wellstone was murdered with his wife and daughter.

    This piece of slime molded in the image of Rahm Emmanuel is pushing the notion that this mandated enforced giveaway to the insurance industry which is going to leave 20 million people uninsured has to be voted for. He wants it passed because if it doesn’t pass its going to hurt the Democrats in the mid terms.

    To make out that Kucinich is grandstanding and doesn’t care about his constituents is repulsively disingenuous. Kucinich is the only Democrat that has consistently stood up for the the progressives in the Democratic party. Moulitsas you remember the progressives don’t you? They are the ones whose energy and convictions are what was responsible for the Democrats having majorities in both houses and getting Obama elected. The ones that were treated like door mats and taken for granted almost immediately after Obama assumed office. They were the ones that were arrested when they tried to represent single payer at the Baucus committee hearings.

    Over sixty percent of the people in this country wanted a single payer system and you Moulitsas accuse Dennis Kucinich of not representing his constituents.

    Moulitsas you are slime of the worst kind. You are not pragmatic you are dogmatic pushing a dogma of banal ineffectualism and institutionalizing it. If you think that passing this piece of shit health care bill is going to pull th Dem’s ass out of the fire you are sadly mistaken. You and your ilk have successfully demoralized and de-energized the progressive wing of the party, and without them the Democratic Party is going to sink like a rock.

  11. Moulitsas is a thug, in my opinion. I also think he’s CIA, or whatever, but who knows. He acts like he could be, an agent whose job was and is to blunt progressive demands and to coopt the progressive movement. He MAY be the single person most responsible for turning progressives into FauxGressives.

    • Haha, that’s not the first time I’ve heard Kos referred to as potentially CIA. Whatever he is, he’s a cretin of the highest order, and immensely disturbed.

    • I think it’s important that the Left and the Progressive Movement perhaps associate with the Green Party, but NOT affiliate uniquely with any party. We need to support progressives in any party – even if the Republican party, should such an unlikely creature be found.

      We’ve already seen now how we surrender our power when we affiliate with a single party. Also, look at europe, where progressive and lefty parties are elected and then immediately run to the Right faster than Obama, and that’s FAST!! We have to be bigger, stronger and more committed than any party. Our ideas have to be more important than any organizational structure.
