Maybe he is a dollar short and a day late, but at least Obama is addressing the problems in Gaza instead of burying his head in the sand like every American President except Carter. His new found temerity in the face of Israeli influence in American politics may just be for show to placate those who are rightfully outraged over Israel’s wanton barbarism against the flotilla bringing relief supplies to Gaza, but even so, he is taking a risk. The Israeli zealots in Congress from both parties will castigate him for even suggesting that the treatment of Gaza is something that needs to be reviewed.

The footage shows the mood and the activities onboard the Mavi Marmara in the time leading up to the attack, and the immediate reaction of the passengers during the attack. We are joined by filmmaker and activist Iara Lee, one of the few Americans on the Mavi Marmara ship. Her equipment was confiscated, but she managed to smuggle out an hour’s worth of footage. The United Nations Security Council yesterday passed a fourth sanctions resolution against Iran for its insistence on enriching its own uranium under its nuclear program and for what the resolution described as insufficient cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Experts criticized the U.S. policy of continually seeking tougher sanctions on Iran by pointing out how ineffective it is.
