Summary
WikiLeaks has released a document set called the Afghan War Diary AWD, an extraordinary compendium of over 91,000 reports covering the war in Afghanistan from 2004 to 2010.
The reports, while written by soldiers and intelligence officers mainly describing lethal military actions involving the United States military, also include intelligence information, reports of meetings with political figures, and related detail.
The document collection will shortly be available on a dedicated webpage.

Secret military files have been opened up by Wikileaks in a joint venture with the Guardian, the New York Times and Der Spiegel
David Leigh, the Guardian’s investigations editor, explains the online tools we have created to help you understand the secret US military files on the war in Afghanistan
The Afghanistan war logs series of reports on the war in Afghanistan published by the Guardian is based on the US military‘s internal logs of the conflict between January 2004 and December 2009. The material, largely classified by the US as secret, was obtained by the whistleblower website Wikileaks, which has published the full archive. The Guardian, along with the New York Times and the German weekly Der Spiegel, was given access to the logs before publication to verify their authenticity and assess their significance.
