So, here we have it. Our cities and towns are facing bankruptcy! State governments cannot help, because they too are in terrible shape, as Uncle Sam stopped Federal Block Grants years ago. These were funds that the Feds send along, gratis to the states, to help with their localities; things like infrastructure repairs, schools, paying first providers ( police, fire , emergency services ) and many other budgetary needs. Since our invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq…… No more money! Zippo! Nada! Americans rallied behind the flag and worried not about local needs. After almost 9 years occupying Afghanistan, and over 7 years occupying Iraq, to the tune of over one trillion dollars , our nation is …….broke!

You know, it’s bad enough to have the mainstream newspapers and television shows constantly hammer home the phrases Iraq War and Afghanistan War. All you hear throughout your city or town, in offices, shopping lines, gatherings of any sort, are those two phrases. Lies! There are no Wars in either country…… Merely occupations and insurgencies. When the German’s occupied France in 1939, there was a resistance movement …. An insurgency against the German military. They did not call it the French War or War With France, which ended with the surrender of the French military. In Iraq, did not the same thing happen, and after just a few weeks? In Afghanistan, it gets a little more intricate, more tricky. The United States ( along with a minor contingent of NATO troops and those from a few other countries ) invaded in 2001 to ‘ seek out Bin Laden and his gang ‘ . Nothing was mentioned of the need to protect and defend any sort of oil pipeline that was planned to go through Afghanistan from the Caspian region. You know, the pipeline that UNOCAL was negotiating with the ( hated ) Taliban a year earlier. UNOCAL, remember them? They’re the oil giant that named a tanker after Condoleeza Rice, the Bush lackey who warned us of ‘ A smoking gun becoming a mushroom cloud ‘ in the run- up to the invasion of Iraq. So, we invaded Afghanistan, Bin Laden and his gang left the country, and we continued to support the warlords ( mostly heroin smugglers ) against the Taliban…. As we now do, nine years later. Everyone knows that the Afghan government of Karzai is a corrupt puppet government controlled by the US….. Everyone it seems except for the majority of Americans who read and watch mainstream media here. The point is that there is no War involving the United States versus Afghanistan.

So, we know how the mainstream media, and our corporate controlled Congress and Presidency, continues to support this Big Lie . Sadly, even many in the so called Left fall for the same trap. You turn on Democracy Now or watch Grit TV or Tom Hartman on Link TV or Free Speech TV…….or read most of the progressive pundits, and you hear or see those same labels being used. What it does is legitimizes our military occupations, our vast funding and our terrible actions in those two nations. You see, if the media portrayed the Israeli occupation of formerly Palestinian lands and the blockade of Gaza as the War With Palestine , it would take on a whole different angle. Think about that for a few seconds. Of course, the bigger conspiracy is how the Military Industrial Complex, through the media and our government officials, has brainwashed Americans with this War On Terror….. One that is purposely open ended. Perpetual War is what Gore Vidal named it. How astute, how perceptive….. Yet so many good and decent Americans fall for this con job repeatedly.

‘ Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country ‘. Remember that from your basic junior high school history class? Well, now is the time for all of us who know better to stand up and speak out . You see, labels are not just important in supermarkets……..
