It is true what Chris Hedges recently wrote for Truthdig regarding the reported death of Osama bin Laden; that al-Qaida is a terrifying force. This group is terrifying for many reasons… the main reason being that their shock and awe tactics that are employed to create a message does just that: it sends a message of terrifying proportions. It works. Continue reading

On the evening of April 30 a Libyan government spokesman announced that an air strike by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization had hit a target in Tripoli, killing leader Muammar Gaddafi’s 29-year-old son Saif al-Arab, three of the former’s grandchildren, all under twelve years of age, and several friends and neighbors.

The attack followed by only a few hours a television address by Gaddafi in which he appealed to NATO nations for a ceasefire and negotiations after six weeks of bombings and cruise missile attacks against his country.

WASHINGTON, May 3, 2011 (IPS) – When George W. Bush rejected a Taliban offer to have Osama bin Laden tried by a moderate group of Islamic states in mid- October 2001, he gave up the only opportunity the United States would have to end bin Laden’s terrorist career for the next nine years.

The al Qaeda leader was able to escape into Pakistan a few weeks later, because the Bush administration had no military plan to capture him.

A realistic scenario of a dialogue between President of the United States and American people:

American people to President Obama:

We have huge problems that need to be solved:

1. Twenty percent of our workforce is unemployed.

Among the vast daily news sources bidding for our readership, I find four little-heralded publications representing major causes worthy of attention.

Spotlighting the dwindling survival of the family farm and ranch is the monthly OCM News published by the Organization for Competitive Markets (OCM). OCM is opposed to the concentration of power in a few megacorporate hands such as the four giant meatpackers and the giant seed company, Monsanto. The effect on farmers is to increase their costs of supplies and decrease their right, under neglected federal law, to receive competitive bids for their product, such as beef.

There is No Such Thing as a Good War

Class, let’s review what Barack (Nobel Peace Laureate) has done since achieving the office of POTUS:

On day three, he ordered his first drone bombing strike in the tribal regions of North Pakistan thus murdering a reported 36 civilians. Since that day, the US has used this tactic of abject terror 192 more times resulting in hundreds of civilian deaths. In the four years the Bush stain used this tactic of terror it was used 43 times. In this area, Obama is definitely an overachiever.
