The International Solidarity Movement (ISM) is a Palestinian led movement committed to solving issues between Israel and Palestine. Huwaida Arraf is one of the co-founders of the group and was filmed giving a speech at San Diego State University. During her speech, Huwaida talks about the history of the Palestinian people and the ISM’s role in trying to aid them. Also mentioned in her speech is the ISM’s attempts in sending aid to Gaza by boat. The complete interview I did with progressive scholar Michael Parenti on my radioshow “Back in the USSR” on 93.3 FM CFRU, mainly talking about two of his recent books: The Face of Imperialism and The Assassination of Julius Caesar: A People’s History of Ancient Rome. Followed up by the song “She Came Along to Me” by Billy Bragg and Wilco.

In this visually dazzling talk, Jonathan Drori shows the extraordinary ways flowering plants — over a quarter million species — have evolved to attract insects to spread their pollen: growing ‘landing-strips’ to guide the insects in, shining in ultraviolet, building elaborate traps, and even mimicking other insects in heat.

Mainstream rhetoric insists otherwise—especially regarding peace, freedom, and democracy (hemp is kind of that family secret), but how often does mainstream rhetoric have much, if anything, to do with truth?
