Interesting, and ironic Barack, how your Democratic Party is symbolized by the donkey… you know, a jackass. Boy of boy, let me tell you that is just how you have behaved from day one in office. Actually, I saw right through you even before you ran for President. Believe you me, that cost me lots of friendships in the activist community.  Many who stood each week on the street corner with me for years during the Bush Jr. debacle seemed to vanish when you won nomination for President. Guess what? Most of them never have returned to that street corner. You sure put a ‘spell ‘on them Barack, as you did with most of the serfs out there who were drowning economically. My stepdaughter waited on line for hours to early vote for you Barack. She believed in your rhetoric, in the ‘hope and change ‘dream you were peddling. Yes, Barack, you are some piece of work, with your big smile and Holy Roller speechmaking. If only something came from it…

Let’s see, you did not end the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan. You did not close Gitmo, nor did you really stop the rendition and torture of suspected terrorists. You did not go after the corrupt and criminal Wall Street crowd… instead you continued the disgraceful bailout to the tune of close to one trillion taxpayer dollars. You did not do anything substantial to ease the foreclosure mess. You did not help the Palestinians at all… actually you allowed Israel to build more illegal settlements on Palestinian land, while still giving money and weaponry to Israel. On the health care front, where myself and my family have no coverage (and we earn more than the average American worker), you refused to stand on principle and not waiver on the plan to open Medicare for All. Finally, and most heinous of all, you continue to refuse to drastically cut the obscene and bloated military spending.  This spending accounts for over 50 % of every federal tax dollar as it bankrupts our nation, sucking up the money needed to save our cities and states. Barack, check out the meaning of War. There is no war going on between the United States and Iraq or Afghanistan! My friend, you have lost your moral compass!

Now, instead of going after the major sources of our economic pain, you and your hypocrite party only want to increase taxes. Yet, all the jackass party does is bundle in those earning around $ 300k a year with those earning millions and billions. In 2007, there were over 16 million millionaire households in America. Why not just legislate a 50% Surtax on all income in excess of one million dollars a year? Lump in bonuses and dividends, rents received etc along with salaries. Of course, if you listened to Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich years ago, we would have already saved trillions by closing the 800+ bases, ended the occupations and let the Wall Street scum fail and fall by the wayside. Come on Barack, you could have had the Treasury Dept. negotiate on all that bad paper for 10 or 20 or 30 cents on the dollar. If Uncle Sam was in receivership of all that junk, the foreclosed occupants would have stayed in their homes and began repayment plans. Duh, that would have taken maybe a million homes off the market, and made all the rest of housing values go…. Duh…. UP?

Barack, if you now realize that this Military Industrial Empire is too powerful to challenge, then resign! Really! Just schedule a national address at prime time (telling no one from Washington what you plan to say) and let it all hang out Barack. Tell the nation, tell the world, and tell everyone that this system is too powerful for even a President to successfully challenge or reform. Admit that you allowed yourself, for years, to be manipulated and handled by the powerful moneyed interests who run the Democrat and Republican parties. Resign and tell the people that the only way for hope and change to occur is for the people, the masses, to stand up and speak out for economic and moral justice. Remind the world that as a devout Christian you recall the famous words of Jesus of Nazareth: “Easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get to heaven.” Barack, the Mayans and the Hopi Indians predicted major earth changes coming soon. Perhaps it is time for the good and the decent and the moral among us to remember other famous words from scripture: “Let justice prevail or may the heavens fall!“

  2. i agree with jim and farlie’s comments. the people need to stand up and speak out CONTINUOUSLY! not just at these semi annual rallies that do not it anymore. time for folks to get out on a regular ( once a week minimum ) basis and let our neighbors and leaders know we have ‘ had enough ‘ .
finally, the most IMPORTANT FIRST STEP is for we who ‘ know better ‘ to stop voting for either of these 2 parties! period! no exceptions!

  3. He didn’t fool me either. When I saw the people that were being appointed to cabinet, I figured nothing good would come of it – and hasn’t. Not that Republicans are any better! Beautiful speeches just don’t cut it.

    • The only solution seems to be that the people need to change and not keep blaming the politicians, that – has never got us anywhere, ever. So if people stand up, the people in power [the military-industrial complex] will have to follow their lead.
