Garden update: Lots and lots of red raspberries are ripening, so it looks like making jam is in the future.

Still have a few strawberries to harvest. Already froze 4 quart bags filled with strawberries to enjoy later this year.
The evening primrose are blooming; planted tomatoes, petunias, cucumber, mustard greens, spring onions, marigolds and zinnias. Beets and chard from last year are flowering. Collards have lots of seed pods.
Oh, the mulberries are ripening, too. Potatoes and butternut squash are growing well. Planted the potatoes in the back garden this year in two places. Last year I planted potatoes in a large container and had many tiny potatoes. Hoping this year will bring some larger ones.

Harvested red radishes. Letting a couple of them flower so I can save the seed to plant next year’s radishes. Harvested a few leaves from the Chinese cabbage and mustard greens today.
First year for blackberries! I can’t wait for them to ripen.
Planted dill and basil from seeds from last year’s garden. The Greek oregano and rosemary from last year are doing well this year. Garlic planted last Fall are growing well.
Planted pickling size cucumbers in the back garden. Still need to plant the green pepper and sage (edible herb).
It’s been an outstanding Spring for flowers: irises, lilacs, spiderwort, honeysuckle, coreopsis, blue flax, hyssop, sage, peony, daisy fleabane, red clover and four-leaf clover!
PS: It’s raining… finally. It has been a while since we’ve had rain, very unusual for this area. Hope it doesn’t continue throughout the Summer like last Summer.
PPS: It didn’t rain very much, unfortunately. Did plant the 4 green pepper plants in containers with fresh potting soil (a first for me). Nice and cool in the middle of the night working on the front porch quietly.
