  1. Chris Hedges, alongside Joanna Macy ~ whom many consider the truly compelling female Bioneer voice ~ must be the most persuasive male orator in the US of America. His eloquence, passion and sincerity are an inspiration to us all in the English speaking universe. Our planetary life changes when we change our minds, and he demonstrates that it is only a matter of time; for it can and will be done, one radical book/wood-block at a time, one life affirming act at a time. So real heart change is happening, make no mistake.

We could all take on board the salient lesson from that superb example in Indonesia (Bangka Botanical Garden) featured in the excellent Al Jazeera series “Earthrise” posted here on Dandelion Salad (in The Story of Change) that illustrates just what can be done when a corporate agent “defects” and does something positive in the real world…we aren’t going to achieve a lot by demonising error, and reacting negatively to it; this only aggravates the problem.

Anger and rage are understandable ~ we all experience it; so what if we encourage the agents of iniquity to think clearly (& healthily) by engaging them as human beings, helping them to redeem their ignorant intentions, through intelligent, enlightened, purposeful, creative action?

Of course we must defend ourselves. Only, tradition shows that the best defence is the classical ancient (oriental) jujitsu gambit ~ perennial philosophical wisdom American war-hawks have yet to acquaint themselves with more thoroughly, by study & practice. Eventually, through perseverance, they might gain true mastery ~ thus abandon brute dominance, the endless cycle of victim and perpetrator.

In short, find their own way by walking in the Other’s moccasins…
