Chris Hedges and Professor Wolff flag up most urgent realities that simply cannot feature in the complacent annals of prevalent establishment propaganda. The collapse of the former Soviet commonwealth and its catastrophic transition augured a now endemic and deeply grotesque runaway display of ostentatious Western triumphalism. What we are witnessing today, with its inevitable consequences will not only change the face of the earth, but our fundamental assumptions about humanity and intelligence.
Unrestrained corporate dominance has proved destructive and disastrous and will bring ruin, because the institutions that society needs to function under the rule of law, are undermined, corrupted, manipulated and dishonoured.
The world will not sleep forever. We should be prepared not only for the unthinkable, but the unimaginable ~ both for good and ill.
Is this the future of capitalism? Some positive propaganda for a change! Not everything is failure and decline, nor a bed or roses either, but maybe there are signs of genuine possibilities on the (far-eastern) horizon…of course technology and investment alone are not enough, we also need social innovations that fit the multi-polar bill ~ http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/cleantech-future/
