Hedges is the seventh Peace and Justice Scholar in Residence at Moravian College. His talk was drawn from his most recent book, Days of Destruction, Days of Revolt.

Chris Hedges refers to the insanity of empires in decline. I have just watched Unmanned: America’s Drone Wars. Obligatory viewing.
The US government sees fit to judge all matters of life and death from its high-spectral dominant throne, of pseudo-omnipotence. That exceptional hallucination of privileged power is destined to dwindle. It may well prove to be the shortest lived and most lethal empire ever.
They Washington Caesars came, they saw little, & failed to conquer.
Who will judge America? If there is indeed a Great Spirit, will it repair the damage inflicted by this wanton, perverse criminal insanity? How much more insult and abuse must the world support?
