At 6.05 a.m., (GMT) on Tuesday 1st April, a correspondent on the BBC’s flagship morning news programme “Today” stated that Russia had “seized Crimea”, faithfully following the rampant propaganda being hysterically stirred from Washington and Whitehall and by newspapers ranging from the Los Angeles Times to pick-your-favourite-news-outlet land.
Again, for anyone just returning from another planet, Crimea with a turn out of 83.1%, voted, in a referendum, by nearly ninety seven percent, to rejoin Russia. Not only was not a shot fired (apart from a couple in the air and one by a sniper suspiciously mirroring actions by the far right in Kiev) but incredibly, Russia is now contemplating returning some of the arms from the bases it has taken over, to Kiev. US fueled dissent in Cuba with fake Twitter

In 2009, the US Agency for International Development, USAID, created a Twitter-like social network called ZunZuneo in order to fuel dissent in Cuba. According to the Associated Press, the service was intended to let users not only discuss topics such as sports and music, but also organize protests, voice dissent, and avoid censorship in the island nation. Topping out at around 40,000 users that the US gathered demographic and other information on, the program was ended after a government grant expired in September 2012. When a country’s military has been turned into nothing more than a criminal killing and torture machine we should not be surprised when its own ranks in turn become seized with all sorts of psychosis and pathology.
The latest mass killing this week at the US army base in Fort Hood, Texas, in which four personnel were shot dead and 16 others injured is but another symptom of how the American military is at war with itself. Continue reading
