NYT retracts proof of “Russian involvement” in Ukraine

The New York Times is the center of scrutiny over photos it claimed prove Russian involvement in Ukraine. The photographer of one of the central photos came forward and said the photo the Times’ claimed was taken in Russia, was actually taken in Ukraine and used without his permission. Used by the State Department and news organizations across the world to prove a Russian connection to the unrest in eastern Ukraine, the photo has now called into question the Time’s fact-checking practices. Ameera David speaks to RT’s Anastasia Churkina about the photo and how it has been misused by the mainstream media.
