Abby Martin interviews retired U.S. Army Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, former national security advisor to the Reagan administration, who spent years as an assistant to Secretary of State Colin Powell during both Bush administrations. Today, he is honest about the unfixable corruption inside the establishment and the corporate interests driving foreign policy.

Hear a rare insider’s view of what interests are behind U.S. wars, the manipulation of intelligence, the intertwining of the military and corporate world, and why the U.S. Empire is doomed.

  13. What a brilliant series this is.

I keep getting this recurring deja-vu intuition, of the inevitability of life continually changing & evolving ~ a biological sea of pulsing energy that we experience as tangible forces that flourish and manifest their thriving “growth” through intimate boundary interactions. Just as emergent seed energies expand & converge until they touch one another, to produce new ecological relationships that accumulate, mutate & concentrate into fresh epigenetic cores of novelty. I’m sure this is the way all stuff really does happen…

So although I definitely share Lawrence Wilkinson’s misgivings ~ about the awesome implications of the implausibility of the dramatic demise of this exceptionalist US juggernaut ~ at the same time, I am sure that the irresistible power of cumulatively exponential forces must eventually overtake & undermine these profane vehicles of ruthless ambition. For these are deviant agencies that seek to restrict the integrity of authentic spiritual force; denying the expression of energies that are synonymous with life itself.

For should we not, each in some intuitive measure, affirm and acknowledge in our innermost being, the supremacy of any and every unique personification of truth, as yet another facet of meaningful dialogue with the living genius of the Cosmos? So why on Earth could we even consider, let alone condone, the imminent extinction of this sacred birthright and contemplate surrendering our sovereign will; allowing ourselves to be reduced to passive accomplices in the mindless destruction of our native soul?

Surely we should face up to the realisation, that this metastatic US-aberrated “socio-political” corporatised pathogen called power, is not obedient to some pre-ordained deterministic law of manifest certainty? It is not a self-fulfilling “holy” prophecy that the wide world is helplessly witnessing, unfolding here. Quite the contrary! This toxic abomination is merely a symptom of the unbridled opportunism of immensely avaricious individuals ~ deviant, corrupt, myopic and louche prodigies of incestuous industrial extravagance, grotesquely insatiable addicts strung out on the hubristic fantastica of their own terminal, biophobic narcissism.

This pernicious, treacherous and ultimately lethal state of affairs cannot be allowed to continue.

  15. A) Empire never has enough B) That’s (Empire) what we are C) “I’ve had enough”. The interview was very insightful and powerful, yet one wishes Parts II-IV were in the works and forthcoming to fully explore issues of such an all-encompassing important discussion.

      • What interests me most in this is his insistence that it was seeing the torture photos that woke him up.
As someone who spent HOURS trying to track down black sites and using my old blog as a “trap” for people involved to see who would react to various postings, I am very cognizant of the need to _prosecute these lawyers_. I studied up on Nuremberg trials to see how lawyers got named and sentenced. He is calling out six; there are many more who had participation in these cruel, inhumane and totally illegal acts (no matter how they tried to spin it). Many of those involved moved right into Obama’s administration from big name law firms. I tracked them when appointments were made. Some had been JAGs; they had NO excuses.
That’s why I keep saying this country is run by bent lawyers and neocons.
As one of the that minority that is awake and angry, I hope people keep pushing for the release of those 28 pages in the torture report! It’s something we can do.
People elected an entirely new Congress after the Abu Gharib pics hoping for CHANGE and impeachment. It didn’t happen on lovely Nancy’s watch. We need it to happen now.
