I agree Lo, Greg P is a serious man. Actually, a heavyweight forensic political scientist.
penniewoodfall is correct, there’ll all watching their backs. Here in the UK it all rather depends on which narratives prevail, and because there is so much popular fiction, many people are simply comatose in fantasy worlds.
Getting people to understand anything real about the US is very hard, because it is still such a mythical Anglophone landscape for so many, fed on indigestible Hollywood fast food. While addled old Europe is just crawling with bad news after all, and most of those furrin’ folk don’t even speak proper English ~ unless you’re lucky enough to book a holiday with a British Travel Award gold winner that can ensure a monolingual experience…plus a free International New York Times !
