The demolition of Palestinian homes for Israeli settlements reached a ten-year high in 2016. While this activity led by the fanatical settler movement is illegal under international law, it is completely aided and abetted by the Israeli government.

With hundreds on notice to be evicted and their homes destroyed, Abby Martin goes on-the-ground throughout the West Bank investigating this dire human rights situation. She speaks to residents living under regular settler attacks from encroaching settlements and outposts illegal even under Israeli law, and sees first-hand how this crisis is worsening.

RT on Oct 31, 2016

Israel should declare sovereignty over the occupied territories in the West Bank, which is home to Israeli settlers, if the UN adopts any Security Council resolution further condemning illegal settlement activity, Israel’s education minister said.

  6. What can one say?

“Israel” is a tragically peculiar ‘state of mind.’ We know that many Israelis are decent, highly educated, honest and morally sophisticated human beings, and yet ~ this endemic psychosis persists. The reactionary status quo of “zionism” is a recruiting agency for perpetual hatred.

Every olive tree that is viciously hacked away….every action of feverish desperation by brainwashed, addled, torture-cultists professing religious superiority….every totalitarian rip and tear viciously directed toward an indigenous minority that has endured unspeakable barbarity by this villainous occupying agency….every abuse and atrocity committed in the name of sanctified exceptionalism….each and all of these documented evils is accruing to the eventual demise of “Israel” as it is, or rather, as it perceives itself to be.

‘Civilization’ is appalled at this regression into unspeakable baseness. In any universal court of justice, the perpetrators would be found severely wanting, and indeed profoundly guilty of the most egregious war crimes, of genocide and of perpetuating a never-ending holocaust….

….only this is also true ~ the perpetrators are all of ‘us.’ We, who as fellow human beings, do not acknowledge or condemn the gross depravity of this state of mind with unrelenting determination.

This situation is a disgrace to humanity. We dare not call ourselves truly human so long as it persists. It casts a terrible shadow across our world, and the length of this shadow reveals the extent of our impotence, our indifference, our complicity.
