The tools of state repression that will end up in the hands of a Trump administration were built by both Republicans and Democrats, says the Pulitzer prize-winning journalist.

Chris Hedges: The Surrender of the Left to Neoliberalism Gave Us Proto-fascism
TheRealNews on Nov 10, 2016
The demonization of third parties misses the fact that roots of our current situation are austerity, deindustrialization, and the impoverishment of half the nation, says journalist Chris Hedges.

Leave off the “Proto”.
Haha. Yes, you’re right.
Sobering and prescient. These probabilities are not only concerning, but if we accept this comprehensive analysis, persuasively inevitable.
Of course such considered inevitability must exclude the unpredictable. So it may be wise to stay vigilant and keep a sharp look out for that unexpected eventual black swan, maybe a pair….even a ‘bevy’ or an imminent ‘wedge’ in full flight, heading our way.
Thanks, David. We will have to be creative in our civil disobedience and future protesting.

Thanks for the link, David.
I wasn’t sure about your comment, so edited it out. It bordered on poisoning someone(s). Yes, we must be creative, but also strictly non-violent.
It didn’t occur too me that such a theatrical stunt might incur the risk of someone in the White House actually drinking such an obviously toxic brew, but I take your point and would ameliorate my suggestion, by ensuring that the sample(s) should be clearly marked as fake, labelled with the actual ingredients simulating the ‘real thing;’ plus, a list of all those lethal contaminants that Indigenous communities are forced to ‘live’ with every day. The premature mortality rates and occupational health statistics do not lie, and in Canada the lethal consequences of resource extraction for Native people have been thoroughly calibrated for decades, but nothing is ever done. It’s actually murder.
See for example Jim Harding’s important film about uranium mining based on his book Canada’s Deadly Secret https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJp0yBgsATo
I do not need to remind Dandelion Salad regulars of the horrific ecocidal catastrophe that is the Alberta tar-sands abomination. How President-to-be Trump responds to this environmental hell on Earth, if he does finally ever get fully briefed and properly educated on the morality of conservation and the economics of renewables, will be telling.
