Truthdig columnist & Pulitzer Prize–winner Chris Hedges and Portland-based award-winning cartoonist and journalist Joe Sacco spoke at The Aladdin Theater in Portland, Oregon on May 27th, 2017 — the day after the horrific hate crime occurred on the MAX.
Watch this intimate conversation between Hedges, Sacco, and the audience, and learn about Caged the Play, Uncaged the Movie: a collaborative project between a class of 28 prisoners at a maximum-security prison in New Jersey and Hedges.

I respect Chris Hedges immensly, but I wish he would stop talking about OWS as if he was a part of it. I spent every night in the park after work and all day when I had no work. I saw him there twice. He would come in, hold a meeting, and then he would leave. In this talk he says that black bloc wasn’t represented at GAs, his ignorance of the GAs is because he didn’t attend the GAs. Many adherents to the tactics of black-bloc were vocal in the GAs. And in the GAs there was much debate about tactics and much agreement that a variety of tactics was necessary to effectively keep the momentum of our occupation.
Lo, thanks again for your work and I am sorry it’s been so long since I participated.
Great to see you here again, James.
Thanks for the additional info on Occupy and Hedges.
Thanks to David for suggesting this video. Most appreciated.
