I’ve kept true to my own counsel about this, including Brennan, Clapper, Clinton Inc, the Benghazi to Syria rat-line I first figured out in early 2012, the U.S. fomented Chechen rebellion in the 1990s (with Saudi jihadist help) the fomented and financed Maidan Massacre / Ukraine mess, the U.S.-fomented Georgia/Russia conflict n 2008, Obama’s last act throwing the U.S. armored divisions up against Russia using the Baltic states, the Marine divisions into Norway, all of this because NATO’s attempt to take the base at Sevastopol went sideways along with other failing imperial adventures in Syria.
I have to wonder—and have for several years now—if NATO planners figured among their machinations that Russia would likely (and rightfully) grab the Crimean base in response and NATO would indeed rather gain a huge propaganda platform from which to excoriate “Russian aggression!!” further ‘in all innocence.”
I was never so ashamed as when the most wretched and conceited Obama did not attend the 70th anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War. I burned with loathing that such a callow and dismissive (of 27+ million dead) action by a U.S. President went unremarked. But in a nation as thoroughly cowed and propagandised as the U.S.population is… well it’s just one more sad testament to ignorance that has brought us to this brink.
Stephen Cohen is a hero of our times, a member of that persecuted pantheon which includes already murdered U.S. reporters such as Danny Casolaro, Gary Webb, and Michael Hastings at home, persecuted and vilified publishers like Julian Assange, whistleblowers like John Kiriakou, Chelsea Manning and of course all-around world super citizen Julian Assange.
This era has many who stood up like Robert Parry for deeply-held principles of integrity, including Hedges, of course, along with John Pilger, Gareth Porter, Sy Hersh, Robert Fisk, Dennnis Bernstein, Randy Credico, and those young ones arriving right on time, including Eva Bartlett, and Aaron Mate, just in time to supplement Matt Taibbi, Vanessa Beeley, Jon Jeter, Mitch Jeserich and other worthies, those so many others precluded by truth-telling from the $msm$ and the making of exorbitant wheelbarrows full of loot for toeing the “Company” line as laid-out by Allen Dulles, et al.
I guess in summation, considering all that Professor Cohen so bluntly and succinctly stated, we’re needing all hands on deck from here on out.
Would that so many more had recognised Russiagate for what it truly represented long before it had a chance to metastasize this badly. I tried. I know many more did too.
But a lifetime of perpetual propaganda (and now it’s 24/7 of mis and dis-information) aimed at multiple generations of U.S. citizens has truly made informing others the epic battle of our times.
