The Afghanistan Papers arrived way past due. Everything in the Wash-Post article is something the world already knows: waste of money, waste of time and waste of lives. The gov’t lied, the corporations made money. Same shit, different war.
Just because the mainstream media outlets are finally posting about the Afghan war being a loss & a waste doesn’t legitimize that truth. Where the f— have y’all been anyway? Progressive outlets have been publishing since the beginning of how this war is unjust, immoral & illegal.
Matthew Hoh, former Pentagon official and veteran, resigned in 2009 and spoke about all the same points given in the #AfghanPapers. That was TEN YEARS AGO. Mainstream media stopped interviewing him. That’s why he had to go on RT news, Press TV and other foreign media outlets.
The #AfghanPapers are now trying to put the blame on just a few select “bad apples” in government. This takes away the fact that our system, capitalism and imperialism, is to blame, with a small minority of the rich who dictate the nation’s policies.
The US has always been a nation of wars from its inception: the genocide of indigenous folks, slavery of Afrikans, Westward Expansion and Manifest Destiny, the Monroe Doctrine, Jim Crow, Mass Incarceration, Vietnam, GWOT. Today, the US is conducting military ops in 80 countries!

Ask our service men and women and they will tell you that a scene such as that depicted of Soldiers in close combat is really old school.
