Continuing with their New Year’s Eve celebrations, the Keiser Report is joined by Dr. Michael Hudson, author of Super Imperialism: The Origin and Fundamentals of US World Dominance. Will 2020 see further decline in that super imperialism about which he first wrote all those decades ago? They discuss this and then turn to the upcoming elections in the US and whether or not he believes the stock market numbers will aid Trump. Finally, the discussion takes in Hudson’s views on uprisings globally and whether they herald the end of the age of neoliberalism.
Michael Hudson is President of The Institute for the Study of Long-Term Economic Trends (ISLET), a Wall Street Financial Analyst, Distinguished Research Professor of Economics at the University of Missouri, Kansas City and author of …and forgive them their debts, J is for Junk Economics (2017), Killing the Host (2015), The Bubble and Beyond (2012), Super Imperialism: The Economic Strategy of American Empire (1968 & 2003), Trade, Development and Foreign Debt: A History of Theories of Polarization v. Convergence in the World Economy (1992 & 2009) and of The Myth of Aid (1971), amongst many others. He can be reached via his website Michael Hudson, mh@michael-hudson.com.

Lo, I just tried to share this on Facebook, and was not able to do so. The error message told me that I can’t post it, because it has been reported as abusive…FB Nazis
Very sorry to hear this, Blue. Thanks for trying to share it. Guessing someone didn’t like the post so they marked it as “spam” or “abusive”, although it isn’t. Were you sharing into a Group or just on your timeline?
In my timeline; I have you in FB – and have had, for a long time. We’ve even talked a bit. I’ll see if I can do it from your FB page. I’ll let you know.
As always, gratitude for Who you are being and for all you do. XoXo
Thanks, Blue!
I didn’t have any problems sharing it on my timeline, or into Groups. Hope it works for you to share from my post.
Your FB page…are you not posting there? I’ve been out of the country for a bit.
Yes, I’m still there, however, I had to make a new profile account (unfortunately).
Thanks for adding me again!
What bugs me is that Michael Hudson knows that money as debt is the control mechanism of the oligarchy and he presents himself as a fighter against the oligarchy. So I was rather surprised by his fierce and pointless defense of their power mechanism when presented with monetary reform, as he was at an IMMR Coffeehouse recently. He is a proponent of MMT which I see as controlled opposition that appeals to people by using some of the language of money reform, but only in a way that serves the oligarchy. Real money reform is about removing the main instrument of oligarchic power and giving it to publicly accountable authority where it belongs. We don’t need to promote a bloody revolution, to dismember the oligarchy. We must elect an ethical Congress who will introduce a just money system, under which democracy can prevail.
