Civil Disobedience Now! Truth Tellers Kumi Naidoo, Clare Farrell, Chris Hedges, and Roger Hallam
XR America on Mar 26, 2021
Speakers say some interesting things? Sure… but primarily this event is a call to action – and not later, NOW.
We are living in a world on an insane trajectory… For over 30 years scientists have been warning us that without drastic changes, global heating will destroy life on this planet. Their warnings have been more or less completely ignored, and instead, greenhouse gas emissions have increased dramatically. It’s like we’re on a train hurtling toward a cliff but all our leaders will discuss is the importance of continuing this train journey.
The cliff is now in sight. The time to save ourselves from unthinkable annihilation is incomprehensibly short. “Politics as usual” has failed us, and even if currently proposed solutions like the New Green Deal are adopted, which is doubtful, they will be too little and too slow.
Our speakers today – Chris Hedges, Clare Farrell, Kumi Naidoo, and Roger Hallam – have been on the frontlines in the last few years, calling for people to wake up to the emergency we’re in and do what it is necessary to save ourselves and all life on Earth. They will each address the topic “Civil Disobedience NOW”
