Over 800,000 police walk the streets of America every day. If you look at what police REALLY do with their every hour on-duty, we could easily replace 99% of them. Here’s how.

European countries have more police than the US. This is from an open in the Mpls Tribune a few months. It provided convincing evidence that the presence of police was an effective deterrent to crime. The more the better. As we know from Euro experience they don’t have to be armed.
I’m sure you’re right. It would be even more effective if every nation in Europe were a police state, with police on every street corner, 24/7 web cameras in every room of every house and guillotines on every high street “as a deterrent”. Because if you’ve done nothing wrong, you’ve nothing to fear. Have you never done anything wrong to anyone, spearman3004? Are the police always 100% correct in the people they arrest?
Has it never occurred to you that there might be better, less destructive of society and more effective ways of reducing offending behaviour? And that what you and the Right narrowly define as ‘crime’ conveniently leaves out corporate and government crimes?
Thank you, Becky, great comment.
