My mother used to say “the proof is in the pudding”. In the case of the US strategy concerning Ukraine and Russia the ‘ugly facts’ are starting to tell the real story.

At least five of those appointed to the ‘new revolutionary cabinet’ in Ukraine come from the ultra-right nationalist (neo-Nazi) Svoboda and Right Sector parties. One of those appointments is the Deputy Secretary of National Security & Defense Council which likely means alot of head busting if anyone ‘gets out of line’.

I am learning so much from all this work going on now about Ukraine.  Statements, or even meanderings, have been trickling sporadically from the leadership of many peace groups in the US and then they’ve been very cautious.  Caution even from folks who know what is really going on.  The old ‘anti-reds’ hysteria from the past still lives here in the US of A.  But the up swell of interest and concern from every day grassroots activists is strong and they are seeing the bigger picture.

A couple of people have wondered if I exaggerated the possibility of war with Russia over Ukraine. I don’t think so – in fact I would suggest that the proxy war is already underway.

Two of the first things that happened following the US led coup d’etat in Ukraine was the “new government” declaring that Russian would be removed as one of the official languages (Ukraine has millions of Russians in it) and that the ban on Nazi symbols and ideology would be lifted. I’ve been writing for many years about US-NATO efforts to militarily surround Russia.  The oil-i-garchy wants to get ahold of the natural gas (the world’s largest supply) that sits on Russian territory.  It also wants full control of the Arctic region now that climate change will make it possible to drill for oil there.  Russia has a huge northern coastal border with the Arctic and thus stands in the way of western oil control.

I watched the mainstream national news last night at 6:30 pm. I did a lot of raging at the TV. One of the networks led off with the story about Russia holding war games inside their own country, near the Ukrainian border. The White House and Secretary of State John Kerry issued stern warnings to Russia about not trying to “interfere” with the current balkanization of the Ukraine. In Crimea, riots between pro-EU and pro-Russian citizens broke out. The Russian Navy has their Black Sea base in Crimea.

US “missile defense” is the key element in US first-strike attack planning. After the US launches a first-strike attack against a country like Russia or China they want to ensure that there is no retaliation, in effect guaranteeing a successful first-strike attack. This was stated by Bruce Gagnon the Coordinator for the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space in an interview with the Voice of Russia. Continue reading

For the US/NATO Iran was the excuse for the missile shield that is being deployed to encircle Russia and North Korea is the pretense being used to encircle China. In both cases these are sheer fabrications and the recent agreement with Iran and NATO’s refusal to stop their missile installations with a new pretext of 30 countries that are a threat proves this fact. NATO’s claims are simply propaganda. Continue reading

As part of Obama’s recent announcement about expanding “missile defense” (MD) systems in Alaska, along with studies to determine a possible site for an East Coast base in the US, the Pentagon also announced a second MD X-band radar would go into Japan.

The US military uses X-band radars to precisely track the trajectory of an “enemy” ballistic missile, allowing its forces to launch Army ground-based (PAC-3) and Navy sea-based (SM-3) interceptors as soon as a missile is detected.

In an exclusive interview with the Voice of Russia, Bruce Gagnon shares little known facts about the militarization of space by the United States, the development of first strike space drones and the foundation of the US Military Industrial Complex by Nazi scientists bent on victory in World War III. If you thought missile defense and drones were bad, you haven’t heard anything yet.

U.S. Secretary of War Leon Panetta is making a tour of the Asia-Pacific where he is pumping up the next military conflict.  Yesterday I heard he was in Vietnam trying to close a deal to allow the U.S. Navy to once again have access to the base at Cam Ranh Bay.

Before leaving on this trip Panetta made the speaking rounds back home to consolidate U.S. media and build public support for Obama’s “pivot” into the Asia-Pacific.  Continue reading

Ballistic Missile Defense System Overview.

Ballistic Missile Defense System Overview. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

One of the biggest questions in the space technology world today is will “missile defense” (MD) really work?  Recently we’ve seen articles making a case that it does not work and never will.  I would suggest that depending on where you are standing, a strong case could be made that MD is working quite well.  It’s all a matter of perception and definition.
