According to many reports, the U.S., U.K.,and even France are preparing to soon (two weeks?) attack Syria with cruise missiles launched from U.S. & U.K. ships off the Syrian coast (to destroy Syrian command & control centers as well as Syrian anti-aircraft installations, including Russian-made missiles), then follow that up by aerial bombing, all to overthrow the Assad regime so a U.S. puppet regime can be installed, as we have done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Egypt, and tried in Libya.  Most U.S. media supports these plans and even enthusiastically calls for these attacks.

An attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, by Israel, the United States, or both, would be a nuclear war for two important reasons:

1. The GBU-28 “bunker buster” bombs which would be used to destroy hardened Iranian nuclear sites use depleted uranium to penetrate concrete. This means lethal radioactive contamination from those exploding bombs would be spewed into the air, ground, and water of Iran, with long-term health consequences to all the people of Iran as well as those in surrounding regions. The people of Fallujah, Iraq, already suffer these horrible consequences from the criminal U.S. & NATO use of depleted uranium there, war crimes which remain unpunished.

1. Bush AND Obama are war criminals who have knowingly waged illegal wars of aggression in violation of the U.N. The Bush-Obama War on Iraq, based on lies and “fixed” intelligence, funded continually by BOTH Corporatist-Militarist Parties in Congress, and hardly ever questioned by what Ray McGovern aptly calls “the Fawning Corporate Media”, is one of the first massive war crimes of this new century (the War on Afghanistan is another). As McGovern reminds us, it is the “supreme international crime,” differing from other war crimes only inasmuch as it contains within itself the “accumulated evil of the whole.”

Obama is STILL warring on:

Afghanistan (Bagram airbase contains a Guantanamo-type indefinite-detention prison).

Iraq (Obama will have hundreds of troops guarding the world’s largest “embassy” in Baghdad, plus thousands of mercenaries will still operate in Iraq).
