Colbert Interviews Libertarian Presidential Candidate Bob Barr

Stephen is dead on with his characterization of the comically out of touch Libertarian Party, and even goes on to expose why even Libertarian candidate Bob Barr is a shitty libertarian… though from my experience most Libertarians are shitty libertarians. You’ve gotta love the audacity of a man who says people should vote Libertarian because the Republican/Democratic monopoly has ruined this country with bills like the ones he’s voted for. There was a momentous moment of momentousness last night as Stephen Colbert came on The Daily Show to officially announce that he would officially consider whether or not to announce that he would run for president of the United States (in South Carolina). He later made an announcement of that decision on his own show. Enjoy.

Colbert re-challenges “vegan wood-spirit” Dennis Kucinich, the most elusive of the Democratic presidential candidates. After calling Kucinich a coward for not accepting, Colbert gets the mystical equivalent of a glove to the face from the “Pocket Master” (incidentally, that was also my nickname in high school, but for a different reason). Colbert will attempt to capture Special K in his studio with ancient runes, an enchanted studio audience, and the bottled essence of Chris Angel on Monday October 15th.

While some talking heads might characterize Dennis Kucinich as a tree-hugging elf, they usually say so because of his appearance and not his magical qualities. Kucinich’s pockets are like Batman’s utility belt. They always contain the perfect item at the exact moment it’s needed. Stephen is disturbed by this anomaly so much that he puts Kucinich on notice until he agrees to empty out the contents of his pockets on his show. Maybe we’ll finally find the spine the Democrats have been lacking all these years. Dennis does seem to be the only one possessing any of it.

Colbert Compares the GOP to Klingons (video)

Stephen Colbert weighs in on a spat between Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee, and finds all the GOP talk about “honor” reminiscent of both Nixon and the Star Trek villains.

In another uproarious edition of “The Word”, Colbert picks apart one of the most interesting moments from Fox News’ recent Republican presidential debate, where Mike Huckabee attacked Ron Paul from the right for his anti-war stance. Huckabee talked about leaving Iraq with honor, using almost identical language compared to Richard Nixon when he was trying to pull out of Vietnam. By the time John McCain chimes in the Republicans are starting sound more like Klingons than real people.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the long-anticipated wet t-shirt contest between Stephen Colbert and Rebel Billionaire Richard Branson. If you’re unfamiliar with Branson’s huge set of chompers and unpredictable nature, he’s basically a billion dollar version of Gary Busey. Branson smells better and has an English accent, but still can’t be anywhere near children without the cops showing up 10 minutes later. If you want to skip to the meat and potatoes, the simulated bukkake scene can be found at the end of the clip. You can’t buy this kind of publicity.
