I’ve been studying the Pentagon’s use of psychological tactics in the way it recruits youth into the armed forces for 20 years, so I have a sense of the lack of boundaries practiced by the US government through its military. Now I can report on the psychological tactics employed by the State Department through the Secret Service Police. I spent a week in the besieged Venezuelan Embassy in Washington, and I was exposed to a relentless psychological operations campaign (psy-ops) orchestrated by my government to drive peace activists like myself from the embassy.

Attorney and author Kevin Zeese joins News.Views.Hughes to argue that calls for regime-change in Venezuela constitute a US push to seize Venezuelans’ natural resources and that President Nicolas Maduro has the support of the Venezuelan people, that economic sanctions and a global drop in oil prices are behind the country’s economic problems and that “the people of Venezuela oppose US domination.”

In this episode of Days of Revolt, host Chris Hedges and organizer Kevin Zeese break down the terms of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). The two deconstruct how the TPP and other associated trade deals like TiSA and TTIP, if approved, will lead to the irreversible privatization of public services, the dismantling of people’s judiciary rights, and the further corporatization of pharmaceuticals, labor, and natural resources. Zeese highlights the importance of direct action in combating these injustices, specifically detailing upcoming demonstrations he has organized with PopularResistance.

Obama’s secret trade deals greatly favors big banks. Brown says, “It looks to me the banking system is in control. That’s where all the big money comes from, and that’s where the two big parties got their money. It’s been this way ever since Rockefeller and Morgan back then in 1900—the Democrats and the Republicans. Brown goes on to say, “The goal here is “they” want to own everything and rent it back to us. So, law is no longer a way to protect the people. Law is now to protect the corporations and serve the corporations.”

Bill Hughes on Sep 23, 2013

On September 23rd, Social Justice activists hung four huge anti-Trans-Pacific Partnership, (TPP), banners on the U.S. Office of Trade Representative building in Washington, D.C. None of the activists were arrested, although one, Tighe Barry, was detained briefly during the demonstration, and then released.

According to “Resist the Trans-Pacific Partnership”, unless “Fast Track” is defeated, a finalized trade deal will more than likely “further entrench corporate power in every area of our lives [including the Internet]…[especially] with more than 600 corporate advisors on board — [as negotiators] including [representatives from] Monsanto, Halliburton, Walmart and Chevron.”

Speaking on camera are Kevin Zeese, Dr. Margaret Flowers, Natalie Yoon and Tighe Barry. To learn more about this important issue, go to: “Resist the TPP — Stop Fast Track,” at: http://www.facebook.com/events/426996234075963/
