Washington has called Russia and China ‘existential threats’ to the US. NATO is expanding up to Russia’s border and the war in Ukraine is escalating as the US-UK-NATO continue to ship weapons to Kiev. At the same time NATO is expanding into the Asia-Pacific region closing the military circle around Beijing.

“The Pentagon has a little secret: a strategy that is low in cost but high in threat. It’s called missile defense. Missile defense spending is less than two percent of the military budget but it establishes a high level threat to so-called enemy nations like China Russia and others.” — Will Griffin

Speaking at the “Nuclear Free World” conference 3/1/15 in New York City Noam Chomsky speaks about the long history of U.S. policymakers risking everything in order to increase the power of the U.S. government over some part of the world. Again and again the actual safety of American people was risked.

In this inaugural episode of the Ralph Nader Radio Hour, Ralph talks about his old nemesis, General Motors, once again getting called on the carpet. How conservatives and liberals should come together to raise the minimum wage. Whether young people should sign up for Obamacare. The situation in Ukraine. Missile defense. And whether the Yankees’ Derek Jeter is a worthy successor to his boyhood hero, Lou Gehrig.

My mother used to say “the proof is in the pudding”. In the case of the US strategy concerning Ukraine and Russia the ‘ugly facts’ are starting to tell the real story.

At least five of those appointed to the ‘new revolutionary cabinet’ in Ukraine come from the ultra-right nationalist (neo-Nazi) Svoboda and Right Sector parties. One of those appointments is the Deputy Secretary of National Security & Defense Council which likely means alot of head busting if anyone ‘gets out of line’.

I am learning so much from all this work going on now about Ukraine.  Statements, or even meanderings, have been trickling sporadically from the leadership of many peace groups in the US and then they’ve been very cautious.  Caution even from folks who know what is really going on.  The old ‘anti-reds’ hysteria from the past still lives here in the US of A.  But the up swell of interest and concern from every day grassroots activists is strong and they are seeing the bigger picture.

I watched the mainstream national news last night at 6:30 pm. I did a lot of raging at the TV. One of the networks led off with the story about Russia holding war games inside their own country, near the Ukrainian border. The White House and Secretary of State John Kerry issued stern warnings to Russia about not trying to “interfere” with the current balkanization of the Ukraine. In Crimea, riots between pro-EU and pro-Russian citizens broke out. The Russian Navy has their Black Sea base in Crimea.

US “missile defense” is the key element in US first-strike attack planning. After the US launches a first-strike attack against a country like Russia or China they want to ensure that there is no retaliation, in effect guaranteeing a successful first-strike attack. This was stated by Bruce Gagnon the Coordinator for the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space in an interview with the Voice of Russia. Continue reading

For the US/NATO Iran was the excuse for the missile shield that is being deployed to encircle Russia and North Korea is the pretense being used to encircle China. In both cases these are sheer fabrications and the recent agreement with Iran and NATO’s refusal to stop their missile installations with a new pretext of 30 countries that are a threat proves this fact. NATO’s claims are simply propaganda. Continue reading

As part of Obama’s recent announcement about expanding “missile defense” (MD) systems in Alaska, along with studies to determine a possible site for an East Coast base in the US, the Pentagon also announced a second MD X-band radar would go into Japan.

The US military uses X-band radars to precisely track the trajectory of an “enemy” ballistic missile, allowing its forces to launch Army ground-based (PAC-3) and Navy sea-based (SM-3) interceptors as soon as a missile is detected.

University of Maryland and Sourcefire Announce New Cybersecurity Partnership

The US has become a psychotic superpower, high on paranoia induced by its own poisonous propaganda. This unstable, lawless rogue state, armed to the teeth and deluded by its own self-righteousness, poses the greatest risk to world security.

The Western public, in particular, should forget about all sorts of imagined evil enemies, and just focus on this one fact: the safety of the world and the future of mankind are being held hostage by the US government, its shadow agencies and the financial-military-industrial complex that it serves.

Ahead of, during and after the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s 25th summit in Chicago on May 20-21, the Pentagon has continued expanding its permanent military presence in the former Yugoslavia and the rest of the Balkan region.

The military bloc’s two-day conclave in Chicago formalized, among several other initiatives including the initial activation of its U.S.-dominated interceptor missile system and Global Hawk-equipped Alliance Ground Surveillance operations, a new category of what NATO calls aspirant countries next in line for full Alliance membership.
